Prosecutors had argued that the bail should be set at $25 million because of Knight’s past criminal record, citing police reports showing past links to robberies, assaults and battery. The remains of the Wall Street Journal reporter missing for 14 months are found in the Passaic River. Two canoers saw a red jacket caught up in some branches and called the police. Authorities were able to identify Bird by his dental records.
