This victory has been a four-year job and it has been many years since I won, but life is too short to give up.

I had little hope. But I targeted a top-15 finish so it would be inappropriate not to be happy with silver now.

Mancuso wins the Olympic bronze medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Combined event. Though the American takes first place after the downhill race, her combined time of 2:35.15 minutes is not enough to secure silver or gold.
Slalom for me is kind of like a game of luck. Roll the dice and it’s on, or roll the dice and it’s off.

Höfl-Riesch wins the Olympic gold medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Combined event. The skier is the pre-race favorite and defending Olympic champion. Though she ends her first run in 5th position, here combined time of 2:34.62 minutes is enough to secure first place.
It’s unbelievable. Of course, I was the big favorite for today, but I had some problems on the downhill course.

Zettel wins the Olympic bronze medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Slalom event. The second Austrian on the winner’s podium, Zettel’s total time of 1:45.35 is 0.81 seconds away from USA’s Mikaela Shiffrin, who wins gold.
Mikaela was absolute fantastic skiing, so she was the favorite and she nailed all of us.

Schild wins the Olympic silver medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Slalom event. The Austrian is the closest contender to challenge gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin of USA. However, her total course time of 1:45.07 minutes is still more than half a second away from first place.
The dream died in the first run. I won the silver medal in the second run and that’s great.

Shiffrin wins the Olympic gold medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Slalom event. The American completes a total time of 1:44.54 minutes, which is more than half a second faster than silver medalist Marlies Schild of Austria.
I wish I could have an American flag on my back in every World Cup because that’s a really cool feeling to hold that and know that you’re not only representing yourself and your family or your team, but the entire country that you come from.

Fenninger wins the Olympic silver medal in the Women’s Alpine Skiing: Giant Slalom event. The Austrian is only 0.07 seconds behind first place finisher Tina Maze, who puts in a combined time of 2:36.87 mintutes.
I just can’t believe that I got a second medal, it’s so cool and I’m so stoked about my second run.
