7.9 magnitude
A 7.9 magnitude earthquake strikes in Nepal only 2km below the earth’s surface. At least two are dead with many more injured. Tremors are felt as far away as Delhi. Reporter:
Massive tremors have been felt here in Delhi and several other parts of India. You can see pictures of our Delhi studios, where the windows rattled and everything shook for a very long time, for a minute perhaps or longer.

Injured

‘Fuller House’ confirmed
Stamos confirms that Netflix has ordered 13 episodes of a Full House spin-off to be called Fuller House. The focus of the series is on:

‘Seduced’ by ISIS
A 16-year-old South Carolina boy is sentenced to five years in juvenile prison on a gun charge related to plans to join ISIS. A solicitor with the 16th Circuit describes the teen as
. . . wholeheartedly sincere in his beliefs, and we are very concerned for the safety of the community and the country . . . He had a plan to randomly shoot American soldiers. [The boy] embraced the ideology [of ISIS]. [He was] seduced by the radical ideology known in the Middle East as ISIS. He wanted to join.
The teen apologizes in court.
I just regret it. If I get out, I will be a completely different person. I want to change everything I did and go back and have a nice life.
Quits social media
James is temporarily quitting social media in order to focus on upcoming games. He says he only needs to communicate with family and teammates.

Jailed
Mursi is sentenced and jailed for 20 years along with 12 Muslim Brotherhood members on charges of violence, kidnapping, and torture. They are acquitted on charges of murder. They plan to appeal. After the reading of the verdict, they chant,

Proposes pipeline
Shatner proposes a water pipeline from the Pacific Northwest to California to solve the drought.
California’s in the midst of a 4-year-old drought. They tell us there’s a year’s supply of water left. If it doesn’t rain next year, what do 20 million people in the breadbasket of the world do? In a place that’s the fifth-largest GDP — if California were a country, it’d be fifth in line — we’re about to be arid! What do you do about it?..So I’m starting a Kickstarter campaign. I want $30 billion … to build a pipeline like the Alaska pipeline. Say, from Seattle — a place where there’s a lot of water. There’s too much water. How bad would it be to get a large, 4-foot pipeline, keep it above ground — because if it leaks, you’re irrigating!
Pleads guilty
Rudd pleads guilty to charges of threat to kill, as well as possession of cannabis and methamphetamine. A second threat to kill charge is dropped. The court summary states,
As a result of threats made by the defendant, the victim was genuinely very fearful for his safety.

Going blind
Barr states she is losing her sight due to both glaucoma and macular degeneration. She also says she smokes marijuana to help relieve the associated pressure in her eyes.

‘No question’ about reprising role

Irreversible brain damage
Houston issues a statement saying that Brown’s prognosis is unclear.
While she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive…Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time.
Car bombing
Police say at least ten are dead due to a suspected suicide bomber crashing into a restaurant in central Mogadishu. Al Shabaab claims responsibility.
The death toll is sure to rise. A policeman opened fire to stop the car bomb but it was all in vain. The policeman died and the car bomb rammed into the gate in the busy restaurant…These are mostly civilians who were having lunch at the restaurant
All products recalled
Blue Bell issues a statement recalling all of its products due to Listeria monocytogenes contamination. To date, there are eight documented cases of illness related to Blue Bell products. Blue Bell has now had several positive tests for Listeria in different places and plants.
Today’s decision was the result of findings from an enhanced sampling program initiated by Blue Bell which revealed that Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream half gallons produced on March 17, 2015, and March 27, 2015, contained the bacteria…We’re committed to doing the 100 percent right thing, and the best way to do that is to take all of our products off the market until we can be confident that they are all safe.

When he stayed over at Taylor’s L.A. house . . . Calvin says he was up all night blowing his nose and complaining he couldn’t breathe. Apparently he’s allergic to the long fluffy hair on Taylor’s cats and they usually sleep in the bed so it’s everywhere.
Women’s winner
Rotich, from Kenya, wins the women’s division in 2 hours 24 minutes 55 seconds after a mile-long sprint to the finish. She wins four seconds ahead of the second-place runner.
I thought I’d finish second. Just like that I saw the finish line and was like: I can kick! I can kick!
Men’s division winner
Desisa wins the men’s division in 2 hours 9 minutes 17 seconds. He throws off his hat and waves to spectators as he sprints to the finish. Desisa also won the 2013 marathon but gave his medal to the city of Boston in light of the bombings that year.
This medal is mine to keep . . . I started waving my hands because I love the Boston people.
