In a statement, Walters reacts to the news of Rivers’ death:

No one loved life, laughter, and a good time more than Joan. We would have dinner and laugh and gossip and I always left the table smiling. She was a brassy, often outrageous, and hilarious performer who made millions laugh. In private, she was the picture of elegance and class. I will miss her.

I put every one of my actions through a filter before I do them because that’s the way my life is. That the reality… If I do something reckless or thoughtless or careless, or I treat someone badly, that doesn’t just affect me; it affects that person. Clooney is named Barbara Walter’s Most Fascinating Person of 2014. Walters:

I guess the question is, ‘What does it take to fascinate one of the most fascinating men in the world?’ She is known primarily through her spouse, and while we know little about her, we know a great deal about him. And he has fascinated many women—especially me. Everyone said that no one would get George Clooney to the altar. In fact, George Clooney—who had been married briefly in his 20s—said it himself, to me, in 1995.

Trump. Melania and his children, are interviewed by Walters for 20/20. Trump, on his earlier marriages:

I’ve gone through tremendous amounts of everything, deals and building companies and taking care of people. It hurts a marriage because you’re working all the time… what I did is I worked so hard that I think it was a very, very hard thing for somebody to compete with.

We have great chemistry. To be with a man as my husband is—you need to know who you are… you need to have a very independent life as well and supporting him, you need to be very smart and quick, and be there for him when he needs you.
