Cumberbatch plays WikiLeaks’ founder and editor-in-chief, Julian Assange, in a thriller, The Fifth Estate. Based in part on the book WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World’s Most Dangerous Website by Domscheit-Berg, this film focuses on the darker and more dangerous aspects of “journalism” and media.

No matter how you cut it, he’s done us a massive service, to wake us up to the zombielike way we absorb our news.
