Says Cosby tried to kiss her, maintains doubt

Interview0 Comments

Gifford says that Cosby tried to kiss her when she toured with him in the 70’s, but still maintains her doubt of the sexual assault allegations against him.

I along with so many Americans and people around the world don’t want these (accusations) to be true. I will admit towards the end of the tour the last time I saw him he did try to kiss me. I said, ‘No,’ I said, ‘Bill, we’re friends.’ He said, ‘OK, good night,” and I said, ‘Good night.’ I went into my room and he went into his room. I’m not saying these women’s allegations are not true. From my own personal experiences, it didn’t happen.

The View interview

Goldberg speaks with Johnson regarding Cosby’s rape allegations and her memory of meeting with him at his home:

So I went to the brownstone and we had a little light um dinner downstairs and then when you go upstairs into the living quarters, um its a huge cappuccino contraption on the bar there and he said I want you to act like you were a drunk woman….

Defends husband

Makes Statement0 Comments

Wife, Camille speaks out and defends Cosby’s rape allegations calling him a victim:

I met my husband, Bill Cosby, in 1963, and we were married in 1964. The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work. He is a kind man, a generous man, a funny man, and a wonderful husband, father and friend. He is the man you thought you knew.

A different man has been portrayed in the media over the last two months. It is the portrait of a man I do not know. It is also a portrait painted by individuals and organizations whom many in the media have given a pass. There appears to be no vetting of my husband’s accusers before stories are published or aired. An accusation is published, and immediately goes viral.

We all followed the story of the article in the “Rolling Stone” concerning allegations of rape at the University of Virginia. The story was heart-breaking, but ultimately appears to be proved to be untrue. Many in the media were quick to link that story to stories about my husband – until that story unwound.

None of us will ever want to be in the position of attacking a victim. But the question should be asked – who is the victim?

Suspends Cosby endowed professorship

Spelman College indefinitely suspends the William and Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Endowed Professorship, a visiting scholar endowment created in 1988 following a 20 million donation from Cosby and wife Camille.

The William and Camille Olivia Hanks Cosby Endowed Professorship was established to bring positive attention and accomplished visiting scholars to Spelman College in order to enhance our intellectual, cultural and creative life. The current context prevents us from continuing to meet these objectives fully. Consequently, we will suspend the program until such time that the original goals can again be met.

New York Post interview

Cosby breaks his silence in an interview with the New York Post, asking that the media remain impartial.

Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.

Claims Cosby drugged her

Accusation0 Comments

Johnson writes an essay for Vanity Fair in which she claims to have been drugged by Cosby at his New York City brownstone in the mid-80s. Johnson writes:

It’s nuts, I know, but it felt oddly inappropriate arguing with Bill Cosby so I took a few sips of the coffee just to appease him. Now let me explain this: I was a top model during the 70s, a period when drugs flowed at parties and photo shoots like bottled water at a health spa. I’d had my fun and experimented with my fair share of mood enhancers. I knew by the second sip of the drink Cosby had given me that I’d been drugged—and drugged good. My head became woozy, my speech became slurred, and the room began to spin nonstop. Cosby motioned for me to come over to him as though we were really about to act out the scene. He put his hands around my waist, and I managed to put my hand on his shoulder in order to steady myself. As I felt my body go completely limp, my brain switched into automatic-survival mode. That meant making sure Cosby understood that I knew exactly what was happening at that very moment. You are a motherf-cker aren’t you? That’s the exact question I yelled at him as he stood there holding me, expecting me to bend to his will. I rapidly called him several more “motherf-ckers.” By the fifth, I could tell that I was really pissing him off. At one point he dropped his hands from my waist and just stood there looking at me like I’d lost my mind. What happened next is somewhat cloudy for me because the drug was in fuller play by that time. I recall his seething anger at my tirade and then him grabbing me by my left arm hard and yanking all 110 pounds of me down a bunch of stairs as my high heels clicked and clacked on every step. I feared my neck was going to break with the force he was using to pull me down those stairs.

Files defamation suit against Cosby

Files Suit0 Comments

Green files suit against Cosby saying that he defamed her by declaring her claims that she was sexually assaulted by Cosby “absolutely false”. Filing:

Thus, by innuendo and effect, Defendant Cosby publicly branded Plaintiff Green a liar.

Joseph Cammarata, Green’s attorney:

This lawsuit provides an opportunity for Ms. Green and Mr. Cosby to litigate the truth or falsity of the comments. It provides them an opportunity to have their day in court, to present evidence and allow a jury to determine who is telling the truth and who isn’t. It’s that simple.

‘The mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Hefner releases a statement regarding Huth’s allegations that Cosby sexually assaulted her when she was 15 years old at the Playboy mansion.

Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved.

‘None of this seems fair’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Green tells TMZ that people who assume Cosby is guilty are being unfair.

He hasn’t said anything. Which is also to some an admission of guilt, as well. It just doesn’t seem fair any way you slice it. You can’t defend yourself in that capacity. You just have to let facts be facts and so on and so forth. The facts have to speak the loudest. With that being said, none of this seems fair. But of course, for any victim in the situation it’s highly unfair. It’s not for me to judge him. I definitely can’t judge him. It’s just unfortunate because he’s so beloved to so many.

Claim: 12 former bunnies raped by Cosby

Masten tells CNN there are 12 former Playboy bunnies who were also raped by Cosby, but will not come forward.

Alleges that Cosby drugged and raped her

Masten, a former Playboy bunny, alleges that Cosby drugged and raped her in an interview with CNN. Masten says she met Cosby while working at Playboy’s famous Chicago club in the late 1970’s which led to a dinner where Masten claims Cosby gave her a glass of Grand Marnier.

The next thing I knew, it was 4 o’clock in the morning. I woke up in a bed naked, bruised. He was laying next to me, and I slithered out of the bed… I got myself together, I went downstairs, I got in a cab, and I went home. There were bruise marks all over me. I knew I was raped.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is an institution celebrating the positive contributions of the inductees. When people are unhappy with one of our honorees, we would hope that they would project their anger in more positive ways then to vandalize a California State landmark. The star is being cleaned up at this time.

Willing to investigate sexual assault allegations

The LAPD says it will investigate any allegations brought forth against Cosby, even if they occurred before the statute of limitations for prosecution ended. Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck says that although the investigation couldn’t be used in a criminal trial, it could be helpful in a civil suit.

We don’t turn people away because things are out of statute. You come to us, especially with a sexual allegation, we will work with you. We address these things seriously, and it’s not just because it’s Mr. Cosby.

Attorney alleges extortion attempt

Accusation0 Comments

Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, alleges that Judy Huth and her attorney tried to extort money from Cosby before filing suit against the comedian this week. Singer files a notice of demurrer with Los Angeles Superior Court.

Plaintiff Judy Huth filed a meritless and unsupported 40-year-old claim against Bill Cosby alleging decades-old sexual abuse immediately after Mr. Cosby rejected plaintiff’s outrageous demand for money in order not to make her allegations public. Recognizing that they committed extortion and could face significant consequences for their conduct, plaintiff’s counsel Marc Strecker rushed to the courthouse to file this lawsuit on behalf of his client. Under California law, the only way that an alleged victim of childhood sexual abuse would be able to assert an otherwise time-barred claim is to allege that the psychological injury or illness had been repressed and was only discovered within the last three years. Without providing any specific allegations, or the mandated certification from a mental health professional to support her claim, plaintiff alleges that she discovered her psychological injuries and illness ‘within the three years prior to the filing of the complaint.’ Conspicuously absent from her complaint, however, is the fact, confirmed by plaintiff’s counsel, that plaintiff unsuccessfully tried to sell her story to the tabloids nearly a decade ago. Through her lawyer, plaintiff made extortionate threats to Mr. Cosby (through his counsel) about criminal penalties, coupled with ever increasing demands for a six-figure payday to keep quiet about her long since expired claims.
