Hunt sues Lesnar, White, UFC

Files Suit0 Comments

Hunt files a civil suit naming the UFC, Lesnar and White as defendants with the Nevada District Court. The suit says:

[The parties] affirmatively circumvented and obstructed fair competition for their own benefit…Without HUNT’s knowledge or consent, the UFC conspired and caused LESNAR, a doping fighter, to fight HUNT, a clean fighter, despite the fact that LESNAR used substances banned by the UFC, USADA and WADA.

Hunt:

I want the UFC to understand it’s not OK to keep doing what they’re doing. They’re allowing guys to do this. They had a chance to take all the money from this guy, because he’s a cheater, and they didn’t. What message is that sending to the boys and girls who want to be a fighter someday? The message is, ‘You just have to cheat like this and it’s OK.’ In society, if you commit a crime, you pay. Why is it different in MMA? It’s hurt the business, so it’s even worse. They need to be held accountable for this.

Calls McGregor a ‘keyboard warrior’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Goldberg criticizes McGregor’s comments about WWE.

I can tell you one thing, I was around when Brock [Lesnar] responded to Conor (laughs) and nothing that Brock does is a work. So the words that came out of his mouth, he fully believes and I do also. And I think that if it wasn’t a work, then it’s a sad situation when you have to talk crap about other organizations that you know your paths are never going to cross competitively. So at the end of the day, you’re kind of like a keyboard warrior unless you want to step into the guy’s gym or unless you want to do it on TV, you know, meet in the middle. I always thought that was kind of cheap, but hey, you know, he (McGregor) doesn’t know what he’s talking about if he actually thinks that. I think that the cross-promotion is brilliant, as long as it doesn’t get hokey for the UFC and as long as WWE can capitalize on the realism of what the UFC brings. It sure enhances Brock’s stock when he walks over to do sports entertainment, I mean, let’s be honest.

Lesnar: ‘I take shits bigger than that kid’

Makes Statement0 Comments

Lesnar responds to McGregor’s WWE comments:

I take shits bigger than that kid. Come on. I know you kids all play f-cking video games and you live in this f-cking false sense of reality and shit. I’m two hundred and f-cking ninety pounds. This guys a hundred and forty-five pounds, if he’s lucky. If Conor McGregor wants to say some shit to me, and get his name out there more than he already has, by dropping my name, I got about ten f-cking words for him…Come here, face-to-face, Conor, and say it to my face. Otherwise leave me and the f-cking WWE out of it, because I came to your arena and kicked ass. Now, if you want, and if you’re so f-cking tough, come to our arena and try and kick some ass.

Lesnar manager: McGregor can’t switch to WWE

Makes Statement0 Comments

In an interview with ESPN, Lesnar’s manager, Hayman, says that McGregor cannot switch between UFC and WWE.

I would love for Conor McGregor to be a Paul Heyman guy…Conor McGregor could not walk between these two worlds or these two universes like Brock Lesnar. It’s just not a possibility. It’s what makes Brock Lesnar unique.

Cormier: Lesnar bigger star than McGregor

Makes Statement0 Comments

Cormier says UFC 200 will be a bigger draw than UFC 202 because Lesnar is a bigger star than McGregror.

I think UFC 200 will undoubtedly be the most successful pay-per-view in UFC history. You have nine former or current UFC champions on the card. You have one of the fights just to start, the first fight of the night, might be either Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Lauzon or Takanori Gomi vs. Jim Miller. These are sick fights, and they’re the ones who are opening the curtain. T.J. Dillashaw is on the card against Raphael Assuncao. Cat Zingano vs. Julianna Pena, two fireballs. And then when the main card starts, Cain Velasquez, who has been in the main event of every fight card he’s been on for the last six years, is fighting to open the night against Travis Browne. How sick is that? The return of Brock Lesnar. Conor McGregor is a massive star in the UFC, as is Nate Diaz, but I can’t imagine people would say that Brock isn’t the biggest star UFC has ever seen.

Respond’s to McGregor’s PPV boast

Interview0 Comments

In an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter, Lesnar responds to McGregor’s boast that he has the largest PPV views.

I don’t know him. I know of Conor McGregor. This sport has evolved even from when I first entered the octagon. I think people are finding out that you have to talk the talk, and you have to more importantly, you have to walk the walk. For guys that can talk and walk the walk, I think it’s great. I think it’s great for the company. I’ve got no qualms with anybody. If somebody wants to state that they’re the biggest pay-per-view draw in the world, I don’t care…I’ve never come out and said, ‘I hold the most pay-per-view buys.’ All I know is what I got paid and I’m happy. Like I said, I’m a prize fighter. I don’t hang my championship trophies on the walls because they don’t pay the bills…The true competitor in me is still alive and well and I have to do this. At the top of my career, I wasn’t at the top of my game. I feel like I was cheated out of my career in the UFC. In my mind and in my heart, I never lost to a foe. I never lost to my opponent. I lost to diverticulitis. That was my opponent who beat me.

Re-signs with WWE; ends MMA career

RetirementSigns Contract0 Comments

Lesnar announces on SportsCenter that he has re-signed with the WWE and that he has retired from the MMA.

I’m officially closing the door on MMA. It was a very hard decision at this stage of my career. The fighter inside me wants to compete. The father and husband — I’m an older caveman now. I make wiser caveman decisions. So, I’m here to say my legacy in the Octagon is over.

It was a hard decision to make. It took me a year. I’ve thought about this for a year. At the end of the day, it’s all about me wanting to have fun. The last two-and-a-half months I’ve been training to get back into the Octagon. I felt physically great, but something lacked mentally — and that’s not good.

At the 2015 WWE Royal Rumble, Lesnar successfully defends the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against John Cena and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match after pinning Rollins. The following night, Lesnar is asked about the possibility of suffering a broken rib during the encounter.

That is true. I have suffered from a lot of injuries throughout my career, but when the time comes to win I get through it, and that’s exactly what I did last night.

Lesnar editorial

Writes Article0 Comments

Ross pens editorial on Lesnar’s career from the first day he signed him to WWE to his current status in the company for Fox Sports.

The South Dakota native is arguably the most naturally gifted athlete to compete in the genre. The former NCAA and UFC heavyweight champion has the physique of a Greek god, moves like a large cat, does what he says and has a legit, animalistic intensity seldom seen in his profession.

Comments on Lesnar UFC return

Interview0 Comments

Heyman sits down with The MMA Hour  to discuss Lesnar’s possible UFC return. Heyman declines rumors and claims Lesnar is currently happy with WWE.

I think he’s very, very happy right now with what we’re doing in WWE, It’s not a subject he has to think about. If the deal ends up over in WWE, if a change of circumstances happens, and if it’s a no-brainer to get him back into the cage, I’m sure it’s something he’d consider. Right now, it’s not a topic of conversation. Why would you mess up the WWE deal?

Ends the streak

Wins Sport Event0 Comments

Lesnar defeats The Undertaker in one on one match to end Undertaker’s 21 year undefeated streak at Wrestlemania 30.

When Brock Lesnar defeats The Undertaker at WrestleMania, it will not trivialize nor negate or minimize the magnitude of the accomplishment that is 21 victories. Brock Lesnar will never amass 21 victories at WrestleMania. He’ll be too old. John Cena is never going to get to 21 in a row. They named the Battle Royal after Andre the Giant. He couldn’t get three in a row
