Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin is an American singer born in 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee. She signed with Columbia Records in 1960 and later moved to Atlantic Records in 1967. Some of her most well-known songs include Respect, Think, and A Natural Woman. Later in the decade, she was given the moniker The Queen of Soul. Franklin had 21 number-one R&B singles and 77 Hot 100 singles. Franklin earned 18 Grammy Awards and has sold over 75 million records. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.
