Arne Duncan is an American education administrator born in 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. He has served as the United States Secretary of Education since 2009. Duncan was formerly the CEO of the Chicago Public School System. He graduated from Harvard University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Duncan was a co-captain of the Harvard basketball team and earned first team Academic All-American honors. He is married to Karen Luann Duncan. The couple has two children, Ryan and Claire.
