Billy Collins
Billy Collins is an American poet born in 1941 in Santa Monica, California. He was the Poet Laureate of the United States from 2001 to 2003. Collins is a professor at Lehman College of the City University of New York as well as the Senior Distinguished Fellow at the Winter Park Institute. In 1992, Collins was named a Literary Lion by the New York Public Library. From 2004 to 2006, he served as the New York State Poet. Some of his most popular poems include Candle Hat, I Ask You, Today, and The Art of Drowning. He is married to Diane Olbright.
