Gloria Steinem

Gloria Steinem is an American political activist and feminist born in 1934 in Toledo, Ohio. Steinem became well known for be on the forefront of the women’s liberation movement in the 1960s and 1970s. She was formerly a writer for New York magazine and was a co-founder of the magazine Ms. Steinem, Jane Fonda, and Robin Morgan founded the Women’s Media Center in 2005. She has earned accolades such as the Clarion Award, Front Page Award, United Nations’ Ceres Medal, and DVF Lifetime Leadership Award. She was married to David Bale until his death in 2003. Actor Christian Bale is Steinem’s stepson.
