Viola Davis
Viola Davis is an American actress born in 1965 in St. Matthews, South Carolina. She has appeared in movies including Traffic, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, Doubt, and The Help, earning Academy Award nominations for Doubt and The Help. Davis’s stage work includes Intimate Apparel, King Hedley II, and Fences, winning Tony Awards for her performances in King Hedley II and Fences. She was the second African-American woman to win a Tony for Best Actress (Play). In the fall of 2014, Davis will star in How to Get Away with Murder, a Shonda Rhimes project for ABC. Davis is married to Julius Tennon and has one daughter.
