Bills ownership approved
NFL owners unanimously approve Terry and Kim Pegula as the new owners of the Buffalo Bills. The Pegulas, also owners of the Buffalo Sabres, purchase the team for 1.4 billion. New York Senator Charles Schumer:
Today, all of western New York can yell out, ‘Touchdown!’ because we have secured long-term owners for the Bills who are fully committed to keeping the team in Western New York for generations. Over the course of these past few months, I spoke regularly with the NFL and with a number of owners and conveyed my belief that the Pegulas, with their Buffalo roots, were fully committed to the Bills’ future in western New York and the right pair to carry on Ralph Wilson’s legacy. The owners have made an excellent decision in unanimously approving the Pegulas’ ownership of the team, and I am confident Terry and Kim will be excellent stewards of this next chapter in Bills history.
Seek gun background checks
The actress pledges to become involved in efforts to curb gun violence at a news conference. Schumer says her second cousin’s package of plans “seeks to address the how,” vowing that these initial public remarks “will not be my last.”
We’ll never know why people choose to do these painful things, but sadly, we always find out how.
Specifically, Senator Schumer is introducing legislation that would allow the Justice Department to create rewards and penalties for states that submit or don’t submit all records into the background check system. The Schumers also called on Congress to fully fund the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which the Senate has proposed cutting by $159 million.
Musk talks ‘the future’ with Schumer
Musk meets with Schumer to discuss artificial intelligence and more.
We talked about the future. We talked about AI and the economy.
Schumer says the meeting went very well.
We talked about Buffalo (New York) – Tesla has a large plant in Buffalo. And we talked about AI.
Met with @SenSchumer and many members of Congress about artificial intelligence regulation today.
That which affects safety of the public has, over time, become regulated to ensure that companies do not cut corners.
AI has great power to do good and evil. Better the former.
