Flies to Afghanistan
Hagel flies to Afghanistan for discussions with current U.S. Commanders. During his visit, Hagel plans to get updated information on Afghanistan’s well-being and their military progress. Currently, 10,000 U.S. troops remain stationed, and Hagel plans to talk with them about the release of Bergdahl. Hagel will also continue to discuss with commanders and various defense ministers about the plans to continue rebuilding Afghanistan and decreasing U.S. presence. This is Hagel’s third trip.
