Nurmagomedv manager: We want to beat McGregor’s ass

Makes Statement0 Comments

Abdelaziz, Nurmagomedov’s manager, says he has not yet heard from McGregor’s team.

Conor’s boss has not called me, has not talked to me, has not asked me anything. Conor’s number one b**** for Dana White. He writes his paycheck…Dana White wants to make this fight, he understands it’s the biggest fight in UFC history. But one of the things we’re not gonna do, everybody begs to fight this clown, and we’re not gonna beg to fight this clown. We wanna beat his ass, he doesn’t set a good example for the sport, he doesn’t set a good example for kids, if we have to fight him, we’re gonna have to fight him. If we don’t fight him we don’t give a f***.

Kavanagh hoping for year-end McGregor fight

Makes Statement0 Comments

Kavanagh says McGregor could fight two or three times in 2019.

If he so wished, if he was driven to do it and said, ‘I’ve got the other side of things on lockdown, I’m confident with that’…Let’s do another three-year stretch of fighting three times a year,’ he could easily do that from a physical point of view, as long as he found the motivation. You best believe I’d be behind it. I’d love it. It’s so much fun. The experience of training him and coming out [to Las Vegas] for a couple weeks. The lead-up and buildup, the fight. There’s just a different feel to a Conor McGregor fight.

McGregor given sculpture for 30th birthday

Donation0 Comments

McGregor is gifted a hyper-realistic sculpture of himself, valued at £50,000, by Lithuanian-born sculptor Aspencrow, who spent five months handcrafting the 100kg sculpture from photographs alone. The artist, who has not met McGregor in person, says he knows the fighter has accepted the gift through a mutual friend. The sculpture, entitled Atlas, will be unveiled at London’s JD Malat Gallery on 14 July, McGregor’s 30th birthday.

It is an honour Conor has accepted this as a gift from me. He is a phenomenon of our time – not just a smart athlete, but also a visionary…It’s up to you what you see in it. You can see him as a prisoner, or a God, or just as a person…I like Conor McGregor – he’s a great guy…I feel he’s my soulmate. Some of the decisions he makes might not be correct, but none of us are ideal.

A Cadillac Escalade owned by McGregor is towed away from a street in central Dublin. It is understood to have either failed to have been taxed and/or insured. McGregor was not arrested or detained after the incident, but was cautioned as the owner of the vehicle to have his documentation in order. Source:

This isn’t the first time he has been warned to sort out documents for that car. He was partying with some of his pals in a nearby location while the vehicle was being guarded. A tow truck took the vehicles to an impound west of Dublin’s city centre.

White: ‘We’re not talking about a McGregor fight right now’

Makes Statement0 Comments

At a post-UFC 226 press conference at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, White says any talk of McGregor’s return to The Octagon must wait until the fighter clears his legal issues.

I’m not even thinking about Conor until – I’m serious. I know they’re saying there are talks, but we’re not talking about a fight right now. Conor has to get through July. Whatever’s going to happen to him in July, we’ll figure that out. I don’t know what’s going to happen…Is he going to get fined? Is he going to be on probation? Is he going to get this, that? When that’s over with, then we’ll start talking about him fighting.

Coach Roddy: I’d love to see McGregor-Khabib by end of year

Interview0 Comments

Speaking at the opening of his new SBG Charlestown facility in Dublin, Ireland, coach Roddy talks about McGregor’s return and the potential of a bout with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

There’s been no specific training. But it’s brewing nicely…It seems to be what the fans want, the fight the fans are looking for now. Conor loves to fight. Khabib is potentially the No. 1 contender. I see flaws in his game that we could capitalise on. Id’ love to see the fight happen before the end of the year…I don’t know how far along it is. I don’t know if there’s negotiations. But I can feel it in the air…[Conor] is always in the gym…Nerves affect some people, but Conor embraces it. He’ll go in there and it’ll be like he never left.

Chiesa: McGregor bus attack cost UFC title shot

Makes Statement0 Comments

Chiesa says McGregor’s bus attack cost him a shot to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov after Max Holloway had pulled out. Chiesa feels had he been healthy, he would have been the clear replacement.

I don’t really got a lot to say to the guy. I lost a title shot. I have proof. I was the highest-ranked guy on the card. I would have stepped in to fight Khabib at the drop of a dime. I’ve always loved the fight with Khabib. Bless his heart, he’s a cool ass guy. But this is a sport and I’ve always liked the way I matched up against him and I got f*cked out of that opportunity. I don’t really have too many kind things to say to [McGregor]. You work your whole life for those kinds of opportunities. Do I want mine on short order? No, I’d love a training camp. Like I said, if they walk in the door now and say, ‘Hey, do you want to fight for the title in the next 10 minutes?’ I’m out the door, I’m warming up, I’m ready to go…To lose the opportunity, that’s tough. You know how this sport works, guys. Opportunities like that don’t come along. I could strike along 15 wins in a row and still not get a title shot and I lost my opportunity and my dream. I hope that I’m gonna fight my ass off to earn it back starting on July 7 against Anthony Pettis. But yeah, tough pill to swallow.
