Page confronts Cruz on LGBT issues

Page confronts Cruz on his position on gay rights at the Iowa State fair Friday, surprising him while he grilled pork chops. The two speak for about five minutes after Page, asks about LGBT people “being fired for being gay-trans”. Cruz counters that “we’re seeing Bible-believing Christians being persecuted for living according to their faith.” The exchange is recorded by ABC News. Cruz then asks Page whether she knew about persecution of gay people in Iran and at the hands of ISIS. Cruz, who opposes same-sex marriage, told ABC afterward that he did not realize he was speaking with Page.

No one has the right to force someone else to abandon their faith and their conscience. Imagine, hypothetically, you had a gay florist and imagine two evangelicals wanted to get married and they decide, ‘You know what, I disagree with your faith and I don’t want to provide flowers’.
