Clarke appears as Daenerys Targaryen in Two Swords, the first episode of the fourth season. As her army marches towards the slave city of Meereen on the continent of Essos, they encounter the gruesome spectacle of crucified slave children hung beside the road to act as signposts toward the city. Daenerys promises that she will bear witness to their suffering before burying their remains.
