We had no idea if it would be successful. You’d explain that it was an avant-garde, existential film on loss and survival in space and everyone would be like: ‘OK …’ It didn’t sound like a film people would be drawn to.

Kowalski saves Stone from drifting off into space and then together they must find a way to get back to Earth.
The great thing about this film is it’s an argument for coming to a theater and seeing it on a big screen. To find films that make sense and make it an event to come here and do that, I think that’s extraordinary.
Don Jon
Gordon-Levitt stars as New Jersey playboy Jon Martello in this romantic comedy, which he also writes and directs. His character is addicted to pornography even though he is popular among women and does not have any problems having flings on a regular basis. He dates Barbara Sugarman, played by Scarlett Johansson, and both of them struggle to stay together due to their varying ideas of love and relationships. The film also stars Tony Danza, Glenne Headly, and Julianne Moore. On his first stint as director:
I really wanted this movie to have a flair to the filmmaking. Especially comedies, it seems, often stay pretty conservative and just leave the comedy to the writing and acting and the rest of the filmmaking is very standardized. I didn’t want to do that. I wanted the filmmaking to reflect what was going on with the character and the evolution of the character.
We’re The Millers
Aniston plays Rose O’Reilly, a stripper, in this comedy directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber. Rose is hired by David Clark, a pot dealer played by Jason Sudeikis, to pretend to be his wife and part of a fake family so he can transport a large shipment of marijuana from Mexico into the United States. Co-starring Emma Roberts and Will Poulter. On the strip scene:
I just had to do it. They rolled the cameras and I just had to bite the bullet. It was a little bit uncomfortable at first, but then you get used to it. At first you’re doing all the rehearsals alone and then all of the sudden you’re on set with three cameras and a bunch of crew. It’s a little intimidating at first.

2 Guns
Washington plays DEA agent Bobby Trench in the 2013 action comedy film 2 Guns, alongside actor Mark Wahlberg. The film revolves around Trench and naval intelligence officer Stig, played by Wahlberg. After discovering an illegal alliance between Mexican cartels and U.S. federal agents, the duo is hunted down by both parties.
We did some stupid stuff. We hung upside down, and were gored by bulls.
The Wind Rises
Gordon-Levitt lends his voice to the English-language version of Hayao Miyazaki’s Japanese animated WWII drama. He voices the lead role of Jiro Horikoshi, a talented engineer who designs and builds airplanes for a living. He is conflicted by his passion for his job and the use of his aircraft in war. Stanley Tucci voices Jiro’s mentor, Caproni, and Emily Blunt voices his love interest, Naoko.
I love really good movies and Miyazaki is clearly one of the living masters of filmmaking. I’ve been fan of his movies for a number of years, and so when I got the call that I had the opportunity to do a voice in the English version, I jumped at the chance.
Red 2
In this comedy action thriller sequel to Red, directed by Dean Parisot, Willis reprises his role as retired CIA agent Frank Moses, who is part of a CIA team searching worldwide for a missing nuclear device. Co-starring John Malkovich, Anthony Hopkins, Mary-Louise Parker, and Helen Mirren.
High stakes. For all the fun we had, actors always have a little bit of – God, I hope we’re doing the right thing…I hope we live up to the promise. All actors think that.
Red 2
Zeta-Jones plays Katja in the action comedy Red 2. Picking up where the initial Red film left off, CIA agent Frank Moses and his odd team of retired spies must ban together once again to locate a missing portable nuclear bomb, before it gets in the wrong hands. Co-starring Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, John Malcovich, Anthony Hopkins and Mary-Louise Parker.
There’s not many movies that are made where you have this amount and this caliber of actors all in together. That was the same in Ocean’s.
Pawn Shop Chronicles
Walker stars in Pawn Shop Chronicles, a crime comedy film centered around the events in and around a pawn shop that tells the story of three overlapping lives involving items found within the store. Walker’s character is Raw Dog, a meth addict who plots to rob a local dealer of his stash, but the plan falls apart when one of his co-conspirators pawns the shotgun needed for the crime.
Despicable Me 2
Brand reprises his role as the voice of Dr. Nefario in this sequel to the 2010 animated comedy. This time he helps the protagonist Gru in his newfound passion of producing tasty, homemade jams. When Gru joins the Anti-Villain League to hunt down the man who stole a dangerous monster-making serum, Dr. Nefario joins forces. New additions to the cast include Benjamin Bratt as Gru’s nemesis Eduardo, and Steve Coogan as the head of the AVL.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Songz gives an interview about his debut acting role in new movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. A woman and the of her friends travel to inspect an inherited property, only to find a nightmare. The film also stares Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood.
I think it means something not only to me, but to the franchise. Ryan was originally envisioned as a white male. The fact that the studio, the producers and the director went out on a limb and put a black man in such a strong part in a classic movie first made in the 70s, when things were so different, speaks volumes too.
World War Z
Pitt plays Gerry Lane in this sci-fi action drama directed by Marc Forster. When Lane, a retired U.N. investigator, learns that a highly contagious virus is transforming those who contract it into rampaging maniacs, and that legions of the infected are growing on all continents, he agrees to join his former colleagues in discovering the source of the plague so that his family will be guaranteed safety aboard a ship in the Atlantic Ocean. Co-starring Mireille Enos and Daniella Kertesz. Forrester:
It’s pretty amazing. He’s an iconic actor. He was a great collaborator. I really enjoyed how he handles being an actor on the set, working with the director, and listening. On the other hand once the cameras start rolling he puts on his producer’s hat and he’s able to do both. It’s very impressive.
The Internship
O’Brien plays Stuart in the comedy directed by Shawn Levy. Stuart and a team of misfit Google interns try to secure jobs at the company using unorthodox tactics that include drunkenness, lapdancing, and Quidditch matches. Co-starring Vince Vaughan, Owen Wilson, Max Minghella, Josh Gad, Tobit Raphael, Max Minghella, Tiya Sircar, and Rose Byrne.
It was the coolest experience ever, for all of us. I’m 21 years old. Five years ago, I was just like a normal kid in high school with my buddies going out and seeing Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn movies. Literally, nonstop quoting these guys around school and joking around all of the time. So it’s just so crazy that I got to work with them.
Behind the Candelabra
Douglas plays pianist Liberace in this biopic that reflects on his relationship with Scott Thorson, played by Matt Damon. This HBO movie is directed by Steven Soderbergh.
I met him once in passing. My father had a weekend house in Palm Springs and I remember driving out and we came to this cross-section and this Rolls-Royce convertible pulled up alongside. It was a sunny day and, my God, the reflections were bouncing off his gold jewelry and diamond rings and his hair was perfectly coiffed. Of course, we now know that he was wearing a wig.
After Earth
Smith and his son Jayden star in After Earth, a sci-fi action film about a father and son crash landing on an abandoned, post-human Earth. A major theme is Will Smith’s character’s ability to completely mask his fear from the creatures they were fighting before they crashed on Earth.
That’s what I wanted the metaphor of this movie to be. A father having to watch as his son makes mistakes in the world, and in an extreme place of life or death. It is the excruciating parental pain of having to let your kids go, and you just have to hope that the lessons you’ve instilled will kick in at the right time.
We The Peeples
Washington plays Grace Peeples, a woman who is affectionately sought after in the movie We The Peeples. Wade Walker decides to ask Grace for her hand in marriage at her family reunion in the Hamptons. He tries his best to impress her wealthy family and will take any steps to do so. Over the course of an eventful weekend, he learns that he may fit in better with the dysfunctional family than he ever could have anticipated. Co-stars David Alan Grier, Craig Robinson, and Melvin Van Pebbles.
Yeah, I love that this movie … this year has been so serious with Django and Scandal and I love those roles and those opportunities but it’s great, especially right now, with what’s been going on in the world, it’s so great that this movie gives people a chance to laugh and smile and feel good about life, and about love and family and Craig Robinson.
The Great Gatsby
Mulligan plays Daisy Buchanan in the adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Great Gatsby. Daisy is the “old love” romantic interest of nouveau riche Jay Gatsby and subject to his various lavish, yet dangerous attempts to win her over once again, as documented by her cousin Nick Carraway.
The Kardashians are sort of a reference in that Daisy’s purpose in life is—she feels her purpose is to look very beautiful all the time and to constantly be on show.So what I was trying to imply was that there’s an essence of part of the amazing business they run as the Kardashians is looking beautiful a lot and looking very present, presentational and perfect.
Fast and Furious 6
Walker plays Brian O’Connor in the sixth installment of the Fast and Furious series. In this film, Hobbs has Dom and Brian reassemble their crew in order to take down a mastermind who commands an organization of mercenary drivers across 12 countries. If they can pull this off, they have been promised full pardons for all.
It’s impossible to not go to work carrying 5 and 1 and the 12 years with you. This one, the process has been a bit different. We’ve been spending a lot more time tweaking as we go. We haven’t had that in the past. We were originally slated to start this project a while earlier, and it got pushed and then pushed again. And what we were up against was a pre-determined release date.
Virgins

The Big Wedding

After he is engaged, he informs Don and Ellie that his birth mother doesn’t know and wouldn’t approve of their divorce. They agree to pretend to still be married to appease her when she comes for the wedding. Co-starring Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Susan Sarandon, and Robin Williams.
I love big movies where you get to be on what feels like a great professional sports team, where everyone passes the ball and everyone is psyched to see everyone else’s moves.
