I’m sure David Cameron wishes he had a few dragons that he could set fire to Ed Miliband with. If you’re talking about charismatic personalities we’d all vote for Peter Dinklage [Tyrion Lannister] for PM, wouldn’t we? He’s an intelligent man, a great orator.

Balfe appears on the cover of April 2015 issue of Backstage. She talks about working in Outlander and her early misadventures in modeling.

I have a great knack of not thinking about things and just going for it. You learn the hard way sometimes that you’re able to get through, but sometimes it’s quite tough when you’re in a situation where you don’t know anyone and you’re trying to find your way around cities. But if an opportunity presents itself and it seems like a good idea, I’m just like, OK, let’s do it, then I’ll figure it out.

I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk and I couldn’t move. I thought I was dying…There were definitely times I couldn’t shower for a full week because I could barely stand. It felt like having all your life sucked out of you…This was a wake-up call. I really just want to enjoy life from here on out.

Earlier in my career I was much more super-sharey. There were moments when I wanted to process things that were happening to me more privately, and I didn’t have the space to do it, because once you let people in, they’re in and you don’t get to say, Oh, I want this for myself.

Glamour UK cover

Woodley appears on the cover of Glamour UK. Woodley discusses her views on sexuality and nudity after posing topless for the magazine.

I’m totally comfortable with nudity. I’m not sure it empowers me as an actress or anything, but if I’m going to do a movie with sex scenes, then I’m going to be naked, because I don’t know about you, but I don’t have sex with bras and panties on….Part of the reason I love Europe is that sexuality is no big deal there. You go to a topless beach and the dudes aren’t checking out your tits, because they’re just boobs. [In America] sex is something that’s not talked about – yet it’s in our faces more than anything else.

It’s totally changing and difficult.
