McGregor petitions for judicial review of Nevada fine

According to Clark County, Nevada, civil court records, McGregor has filed a petition for judicial review of his $150,000 fine for the water bottle fight with Nate Diaz before UFC 202. The suit names NSAC Executive Director Bennett and the NSAC as respondents. A hearing date has yet to be scheduled and there is no further comment from McGregor or Bennett.

Appeals to court after penalty

Rossi appeals to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after he was demoted to the back of the grid in the Valencia GP on Nov 8. He asks for an annulment or reduction of the penalty from three points to one. Rossi also files an application to stay the execution of the decision in order not to lose his place on the starting grid at the Valencia. The court will decide by Nov 6.

Launches appeal

Attorneys for Tsarnaev appeal his conviction and death sentence, arguing that “continuous and unrelenting publicity”, including social media posts about the bombings, the defendant and his family, and survivor stories prevented him from getting an impartial hearing. It notes that Boston announced a new holiday marking the bombings while jurors were deliberating Tsarnaev’s guilt.

Put simply, prejudicial media coverage, events, and environment saturated greater Boston, including the social networks of actual trial jurors, and made it an improper venue for the trial of this case.

Tsarnaev’s lawyers also argue that the death penalty sentence constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.

Manfred says he has received a formal request from Rose that asks for Rose’s lifetime ban to be lifted. Manfred says he will consider the request ‘on its merits.’

Seeks reinstatement

After the charges for assaulting and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend are dropped, Hardy seeks reinstatement into the NFL. The NFL has opened its own investigation into the incident, so Hardy will remain on the league’s exempt list until that investigation is completed. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy:

He [Hardy] hasn’t been disciplined. There is nothing for him to … seek reinstatement from at this point.

Fifth appeal postponed

Bibi’s fifth attempt of an appeal hearing in regards to her death sentence is postponed because the case disappears from the list of cases under discussion.. The court received “orders not to schedule hearings for the moment.”  It is uncertain when the next appeal will happen. Lawyers:
