Minaj releases the single Pills ‘N Potions as the first single from her album The Pink Print.
I think everybody knows how obsessed I am with Jay Z. He’s always been my favorite rapper, him and Wayne, and he did such a great job of creating this Blueprint brand for male rappers I studied a lot of his Blueprint, in terms of being a mogul, I wanted to do that. I wanted to be like Jay Z. I felt like with what I’m doing, I want female rappers to be able to pattern themselves with what I’ve done one day. I think the album is so classic. It’s gonna feel so good and I think it will probably be something that female rappers look to as a Pink Print for years to come.
Payback
The band releases, Payback, from, Rewind. DeMarcus:
We didn’t write the song, we found the song, or it found us. It’s revenge driven in a funny way. What he’s saying is basically, ‘Let’s dance together at this club tonight. We’ll take some pictures and put them out on the Internet and he’ll see it and it’ll piss him off and he’ll wonder.
Maps
Maroon 5 releases Maps. The song is the first track off of their upcoming fifth studio album titled V. Levine says singles are chosen based on what the band think will be the biggest hit.
We choose the singles. But we also aren’t stupid. We present the singles, and we say ‘here are the singles, these are the songs we think would be big hits. But we listen to people. I play the song for everyone I can find that I love and I respect. I play the song for kids. Kids know everything. That’s the secret. They have the best taste in music. They have the best ears, because they aren’t corrupted by anything. We listen to the reaction from the label and friends…we do a lot of our own research.
Platinum
Lambert ‘s album, Platinum, takes the number one spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. She becomes the only country artist in 50-years to have each of her first five albums debut at number one.

It’s been literally my most critically acclaimed single ever. Sometimes I get a beat or a hook and I just write what it tells me, what it feels like. What that felt like to me was forgiveness, you know, and just understanding that everybody gets mad, but when you love somebody, I feel like you’ll always love them. I don’t feel like there’s ever been somebody that I loved that I no longer love, I just may not be able to live with you or have you in my life, and that’s really what the song is about.
