One of my biggest goals, especially with writing YA novels, is just to have people enjoy reading. I remember being in high school and it was so forced because everything I read through most of school was assigned reading. I love the idea of giving girls a book that they can read and enjoy reading.
Devoted
Duff releases the second book in the Elixir Trilogy. Devoted follows Clea who tries to find and figure out if her soulmate Sage is alive or dead after being kidnapped. Elise Allen co-wrote on the novel with Duff.
She’s (Clea) going to team up with Ben again, who’s her best friend. They’ve ended on bad terms, so now she has to be the bigger person and go back to him and beg him to help her even though she’s really upset with him, and then the story goes on from there. They go on to have a really big adventure, and there’s a huge fight scene at the end of the book that was a lot of fun to write and a lot of new characters. It’s fun.

The book includes analysis of the Term Sheet, details the differnt stages of the fundraising process, explores the venture capital ecosystem and gives tactics for negotiations.
My favorite entrepreneurs to fund are those that have had at least one success and one failure. While it is a cliche, failure teaches the big lessons. Most importantly, entrepreneurs that have some failure under their belt have humility and perspective that I think is deeply useful in the creation of the company.
Harvard Business Review case study

In September 2009, Troy Carter, manager of up-and-coming pop star Lady Gaga, has to decide on a new course of action now that his artist’s planned co-headlining arena tour with hip-hop superstar Kanye West has been canceled. Carter knows that continuing the tour solo comes with huge risks, but scaling it back to smaller theaters or postponing the tour altogether has disadvantages as well. Making matters more complicated, Carter also has to consider the implications for Gaga’s partners, including the concert promoter Live Nation and the William Morris Endeavor agency. What is the best strategy? This case is designed to help students understand the decisions that helped propel Lady Gaga into one of the entertainment world’s biggest names. Written from the perspective of her manager, the case provides rich insights into the artist’s touring, recorded-music, and socialmedia activities, as well as supporting economic data.

Elixir
Duff releases her first young adult novel titled Elixir. The novel is co-written by Duff and Elise Allen that follows a paranormal romance theme. The novel is on the New York Times’ Best Sellers List.
I have always been interested in the paranormal and afterlife, everything from ghosts to angels. I think that everyone has that curiosity of the great unknown. It is fun to add the paranormal element because there aren’t any limits to what you can do.
Sugar and Spice
Conrad releases Sugar and Spice, her third and final trilogy novel, which follows Jane Roberts from the opening night of her reality show through her realizations of good and bad relationships she has fostered throughout the series.
The first book was the most difficult to write as I was new to the process and there are so many writes and rewrites etc. Not to say book 2 and 3 were easy but they were more enjoyable as I could be creative rather than setting up characters.
Countdown to Lockdown: A Hardcore Journal
Foley publishes his fourth memoir, Countdown to Lockdown: A Hardcore Journal. The book follows Foley’s run in TNA as he counts down the events leading up to his highly publicized match against Sting.
At one time, I was really afraid they were going to scrap the whole project, especially when my own personal story started to take a turn for the worse. Luckily for me, Vince McMahon really believed that I should have the right to tell the story as I saw it.

Conrad releases the second novel in the her trilogy series. The novel titled Sweet Little Lies continues to follow character Jane Roberts after she leaves Los Angeles. In the book Jane finds herself in a tight spot when scandalous photos of her are released and she must find her way out of this mess.
The first book was a learning experience. I had to learn the whole process and I think I also had to learn to schedule writing time for myself. I had lived my life for years on a schedule and this was the first time where I would have full days to write. It was also teaching myself how to do that. Everything was very new to me. The second time around, I had a better idea of how it was done.
Under the Dome
On a seemingly normal day, the small town of Chester’s Mill, Maine is encased in an indestructible dome that completely separates them from the rest of the world. King had originally gotten the idea for Under the Dome in the 1970’s, but scrapped the idea several times. After finally publishing the novel, he stated that a good idea never leaves your mind.
I thought to myself what an image that would make, the idea of the whole world watching these people who are as out of touch as people who are stranded on a desert island. They were all fun to write about, I love this book and I love the people in it.

My latest novel, which I’ll admit kind of slipped under the radar….As many of you know, I was in a bad car crash and broke my jaw right around the time this book was to be promoted. On top of that I was expecting my second child and producing my first stage play, Secret Society, based on my debut novel. Needless to say I had so much on my plate that I was unable to give Chaser the attention it deserved….But in spite of that….Chaser has gotten praise like none of my preceding novels… People called it my best book yet…Fans said they could see that I’ve grown as a writer…Readers were thrilled to get a glimpse into yet another underworld….And it was featured in Elle Magazine!!!
L.A. Candy
Conrad releases first novel titled L.A. Candy. The book is the first installment in a trilogy that follows Jane Roberts who moves to Hollywood and gets cast in her own reality show. The book becomes a New York Times Best Seller.
I didn’t take anything specifically that happened to me. The only thing that I did was … it was a way to show not necessarily me but just the other side of being on a show like ours. For everyone that’s done it I think you see one side and you don’t see the other. It’s kind of an interesting story to tell.
