‘Racist’ Paddy Power ad for Mayweather v McGregor superfight banned
After complaints from nine people, an advert for Paddy Power that urged punters to “always bet on black” before the Floyd Mayweather fight with Conor McGregor has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), who said it was likely to cause “serious offence”. Paddy Power claimed the ad was not intended to cause offence on the grounds of race.

TMZ reports that a long list of celebrities will attend the McGregor-Mayweather fight on August 26, including Angelina Jolie, Drake, Elon Musk, Diddy, Mark Wahlberg, Denzel Washington, Charlize Theron, LL Cool J, Jamie Foxx, LeBron James, Bob Kraft, Rick Ross, Adam Levine, Michael Bay, Avicii, and Jeff Beacher. Showtime and Mayweather Promotions announce three bouts for the Aug. 26 boxing event from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, including a pair of title fights. In a WBA light heavyweight title match, champion Nathan Cleverly will defend his belt against Badou Jack, a former WBC super middleweight champion who is stepping up in weight. Cleverly:

The cost of the event will be £19.95 for UK customers; €24.95 for those in Ireland, across all forms of booking up until midnight Friday 25 August. Fathom Events will present the McGregor-Mayweather fight in selected cinemas in the US live on August 26. While the pay-per-view will cost $99.95 to order at home in high definition, tickets to view the fight in theaters appear to be $40 in most locations. McGregor-Mayweather tickets on sale
Tickets for the McGregor-Mayweather fight go on sale at 6 PM BST (1 pm ET and 10 AM PT) and can be purchased through this link here. In an attempt to stop touts from snapping up multiple tickets, only two seats can be purchased per transaction. The cheapest ticket will cost £385 ($500). Those wanting a front-row seat will have to fork out £7706 ($10,000). Fans who miss out on the initial sale will be able to purchase tickets via licensed third party resale websites.
