Fulham sign
Fulham signs striker Smith from Leeds for £500,000. The player has signed a three year contract with an option of extending it by a further 12 months. He has made 43 appearances for his former side scoring 13 goals.
I’m excited by the challenge and hopefully it will prove to be a successful period for Fulham and myself. I have a lot to offer and hopefully I can play my part – as a new player you just want to show what you can do.
Fulham 1-1 Cardiff
Kenwyne Jones goal in the 55th minute earns Cardiff a point at Craven Cottage. It is Fulham that seems in control of the game when Tim Hoogland scores in the 22nd minute of first half. Ross Mc Cormack curls the ball wide shortly after Hooglands’ goal and the hosts fail to add the second to their tally. The visitors get a chance to take full points home but Pereira Fabio mishits the ball after a good drive towards the goal. Solskjaer:
We had to move quicker and bring more enthusiasm in our play and move the ball faster.
Derby 5-1 Fulham
Jamie Ward opens the score for Derby in the 23rd minute of the game. Fulham score in the 54th minute of the second half through Scott Parker but Chris Bryson restores the lead in the 59th minute. Fulham make one substitution while Derby two with John Eustace coming on for Will Hughes but Chris Martin follows through with a double in the 61st and 87th and a minute later Simon Dawkins seals the lead with the fifth. The result was very bad and so now is the time to change. A few minutes after the game is not the time to talk about what we will change but for sure there will be new players in. I am not satisfied with the situation. Derby are one of the favourites for this season and you can lose against such a good team but not in this manner
