Rival chef sabotages restaurant opening
0 CommentsRamsay tells UK talk show host Jonathan Ross that a rival chef sabotaged the opening of his new restaurant in London, Heddon Street Kitchen, by block booking most of the restaurant. Ramsey does not name the chef he believes is responsible.
I think there’s all that level of envy. Saturday was our first big day, we had 140 on the books and we had a 100 no show.

After 12 seasons of helping struggling restaurants, Kitchen Nightmares is coming to an end. Ramsay:
During this time I’ve visited over 100 restaurants, meeting and trying to help or in some cases failing to help, some of the most weird and wonderful people. I’m glad I’ve been able to entertain and hopefully help a few people along the way. It’s sad to say goodbye to Kitchen Nightmares but I’ll be continuing with my other shows. It’s been memorable! Thank you for watching.
Gordon Ramsay interview
Seacrest interviews Ramsay during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his show Masterchef Junior.
I remember the first mystery box challenge we did with the kids there was a bit of an incident and a mistake and one of them cursed and I said, “Hey! Come on. Focus on what you’re doing and watch your language.” And they all stopped and put their knives down and they’re like, “Excuse me? You’re telling us off for swearing?”
Gordon Ramsay interview
Seacrest interviews Ramsay during On Air With Ryan Seacrest about his restaurant The Fat Cow.
In England there is an amazing restaurant called The Fat Duck, it’s run by Heston Blumenthal, an amazing chef. I’ve never copied, so I thought we eat a lot of cow, we’re in The Grove, it family orientated, it’s farm to table, and it’s done with a smirk. The Fat Cow. There are skinny cow salads, fat cow salads, and fat cow burgers. I think more than anything I’m always sort of known for fine dining, but this is something really relaxed, chilled.
Born in Johnstone, Scotland
Gordon James Ramsay, Jr. is born in Johnstone, Scotland to Gordon James Sr., a shopkeeper, and Helen Ramsay, a nurse. Ramsay has describes his childhood as one filled with neglect and abuse from his “hard-drinking womanizer” father and later moved out at the age of sixteen. Ramsay’s father did not approve of his passion for cooking and often used gay slurs while talking to him about it.
He taught me how to swim and I think that’s important. His method involved holding my head underwater for minutes on end.
