Hogan gives an interview on The Arsenio Hall Show. They talk about whether he will wrestle again and his respect for WWE wrestler John Cena.
He’s (John Cena) done a lot of great stuff, I mean the training curves and vitamins, he raised the bar hustle, team respect. He made it cool again to be a good guy but someone needs to drag him around the ring for a half hour.

He (McMahon) actually gave me that shot of confidence I needed that night. When I was really jitterbugging right before I had to go out, Vince kicked the door down and he gave me this hug that felt like it should have broken my ribs. He goes, “Go out there and have fun!” And I went, “Yes. That’s what I needed. I needed that from you.” He’s always been there and we’ve always been friends.

Oh yeah, there were nerves. Even the night before, I couldn’t sleep. I was tossing and turning. I’m thinking, “How are these fans going to welcome me back?” But when I came out right at the top of the show and they saw me, it was almost like I had walked behind a 747 jet. The only way I can explain it to you is it was this energy and it was so loud it was like, “Woah!” It made me take a step back for a minute.

Hogan talks to Fighting Spirit magazine. Hogan discusses Bret Hart and his issues with the fellow performer.
The main-event guy made the most money when he had the belt. When I was the (WWF) champion, I made the most money. It was an old rule that Vince (McMahon) Sr. had that, thank god, was passed on for quite a while. That changed when Bret Hart became champion; he’d work for a lot less than anybody else, so it changed everybody’s pay.
Sues Laser Spine institute

Sting vs Hogan – Bound for Glory
Sting defeats Hogan in singles competition at TNA Bound for Glory on pay-per-view to give control of the company back to Carter. Sting picks up the submission victory by applying a “Scorpion Death Lock” at nine minutes and forty-five seconds.
Hogan, McDaniel marry
Hogan marries McDaniel in a private ceremony at their home in Clearwater, Florida. The police are called when a fight breaks out during the ceremony when a photographer is asked to leave. The police are called and the ceremony continues after the man is removed from the property.
6th WWE Championship
Hogan wins his sixth WWE championship from Triple H at Backlash. This is Hogan’s first WWE championship in nine years.
Wrestlemania 18
Wrestlemania 18 is held at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario. The event features Rob Van Dam vs William Regal, Jazz vs Trish Stratus vs Lita, The Undertaker vs Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan vs The Rock, Edge vs Booker T and Triple H vs Chris Jericho.
Finger poke of doom
Hogan faces Nash for the WCW title on Monday Night Nitro. When the match beings, Hogan pokes Nash in the chest, Nash falls to the ground and Hogan pins him, winning the championship in what WCW officially titles “The finger poke of doom”. Nash:
The “Fingerpoke of Doom” was nothing. The “Fingerpoke of Doom” was just trying to realign The nWo to face off with Goldberg and Goldberg ended up getting injured. I love how the story of my life is how I beat Goldberg to turn around and take the “Fingerpoke of Doom” a week later. Boy, that did me a lot of good. When you look at how people perceive the whole thing, it’s ridiculous…The number one problem people have with the “Fingerpoke of Doom” is it “got” everybody. And nobody likes to be “got.” So, of course, [know-it-alls] are going to hate it the most because they never called it. They didn’t see anything coming.
Goldberg – Hogan WCW championship
Goldberg defeats Hogan in singles competition on Monday Night Nitro in Atlanta, GA to capture the WCW championship.
WCW title declared vacant
J.J. Dillon declares WCW title vacant due to the controversial ending to Sting vs Hogan at Starrcade. Sting is forced to relinquish the tile, urging him to speak for the first time since 1996 to Dillon then Hogan.

Beats Hogan for WCW Title
Sting defeats Hollywood Hulk Hogan to reclaim WCW title from the nWo faction. The match ends in controversy as Bret Hart accuses referee (Neil Patrick) of fast count and declares Sting the winner after restarting the match.
Hulk is the best ever in the business. He’s the biggest draw in wrestling history. Starrcade 1997 is still my all-time favorite match.
War Games
Sting wrestles in War Games to clear his name as Hollywood Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and The Fake Sting take on Sting, Lex Luger, Arn Anderson and Ric Flair. This is Sting’s last match in over one year.

Wrestlemania 8 is held at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event begins The Undertaker’s 21 year undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. The event features Sid Justice vs Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage vs Ric Flair and Undertaker vs Jake Roberts.
