Ike Turner was an American musician born in 1931 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Turner rose to fame for his music group with ex-wife Tina Turner known as the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. The group released the albums Gimme Shelter, Soul 2 Soul, and Taking Off. Their most popular songs include I Idolize You, A Fool in Love, Proud Mary, I Want to Take You Higher, and It’s Gonna Work Out Fine. In 1991, the group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Turner also won multiple Grammys in his career as well. In 2007, Turner died of a cocaine overdose in San Marcos, California at the age of 76. He was married to Audrey Madison-Turner and had seven children.
