Parsons discusses his role in HBO’s The Normal Heart and portraying the same role on Broadway in an interview with PBS.
It’s a beautiful cast, yes. Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Taylor Kitsch, myself, Joe Mantello, who was in the play version with me. It goes on. Everybody in it. The thing that startled me most when seeing it, the screening of the movie for the first time, was how grounded every performance was in it. A lot of that credit goes to Ryan Murphy, obviously – the direction he gave, the direction he didn’t give, and just sheerly for casting it.

To say that I watch your work and I feel inspired is a bit of an understatement. I watch you work and see you people doing things I couldn’t do. … That I wouldn’t do … That are so divergent and all over the place. All of us doing different things that I do pray to do one day.
Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco strike deals
The production delay for The Big Bang Theory is over after Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco reached contracts deals, which reportedly include significant raises, with Warner Bros. Television. Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg continue to negotiate their contracts. Agreements are expected this week and the series likely will resume production on Wednesday.

It never gets old, that’s for damn sure… The longer we’re on the air, for me it feels a little more of an honor. Every year, there’s so much more out there, there are so many wonderful choices and it gets harder to get an audience in general. So to be included is, honestly, all the sweeter as time goes by.

My mantra during award season is to enjoy it, enjoy it, enjoy it. You can’t help but feel stressed anytime attention is placed upon you. Chuck Lorre once said to me ‘Enjoy this as much as possible, because it’s a wildly fickle business.’ That’s all you can do. What’s funny during awards season is that there’s nothing you can do to work on it. You just smile and soak it in.

I’m in New York right now. I was up, I had had my coffee, the Today show was on. It was so civilized. I can’t believe the civilized way in which New Yorkers get to hear these things. I’ve only known them as 5 am, crack-of-dawn, the sun’s not up even… you can’t get your bearings about you. This was just like a day at the office -a happy one…. The very first text I got was from Simon Helberg’s wife, Jocelyn. That’s a good friend. She beat my mother by at least 30 minutes. I’m not kidding.

I’m beyond excited. I don’t know what the last thing was where I felt like this, but I was a child, I promise you. Where it feels like it’s kind of a dream and it’s not really happening and a touch of Christmas present opening, too. It’s really weird! And wonderful, but it’s really weird! It’s just insane. I feel so immature!
