Portuguese police start search
Madeleine McCann0 CommentsPortuguese officers search a stretch of empty ground near the center of the resort, close to where a man was seen carrying a sleeping girl in pink pajamas the night the three-year-old girl disappeared. Several officers examine the area on foot and by car in preparation for the detailed search next week, when British police dogs and ground-penetrating radar will comb the area for four to six days. The large area of scrubland is the only place British police have been given permission to search.
