Let There Be Rock
The band releases the single, Let There Be Rock, from their album with the same name. The song was co-written by brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, and lyricist Scott.
Has dementia, won’t return
Young is suffering from dementia and will not return to the band. Young’s nephew Stevie Young will replace Malcolm on ACDC’s 2015 tour. ACDC:
Rock or Bust is the first AC/DC album in the band’s 41 year history without founding member Malcolm Young on the recordings. Earlier this year AC/DC released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm’s condition, he will not be returning.
Play Ball preview
The band previews Play Ball, from their new album, Rock or Bust, which is scheduled to be released on Dec 2, 2014. This is the first album from the band that will not include Malcolm Young. Stevie Young, Malcolm’s cousin, fills in for him due to his battle with dementia. Johnson:
Stevie, Malcolm’s nephew, was magnificent, but when you’re recording with this thing hanging over you and your work mate isn’t well, it’s difficult. But I’m sure [Malcolm] was rooting for us.
