Monster video

West releases Monster featuring Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross and Jay-Z from his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, directed by Jake Nava. The video features Minaj holding her self captive and torturing herself. Ross:

It was a moment in history. I knew then she’s one of the greatest. I was actually in the studio with Kanye in Hawaii when he played the concept for me. I was blown away. I had the opportunity to sit in the studio while Nicki wrote her verse just off the record. That was when she earned my respect as a lyricist. She was a dope entertainer up until that day that I sat in the studio and watched her come up with what I feel is one of the dopest verses of the year.

Williams interviews Minaj and questions her on why her father burned their house down.

No he did. It wasn’t an attempt, he did burn the house down and my mother was in the house. She had to like you know run out at the last-minute, but she had a dream the night before that the house was gonna get burned down. So she, me and my brother were not in the house. She had us sleep at a friend’s house.

Roman is a weird little alter ego who is very flamboyant and doesn’t give a damn. You know when I’m doing really weird voices, growling, being real crazy, and talking like Anna Nicole Smith? That’s Roman.
