Coster-Waldau appears as Ser Jaime Lannister in the second episode of the fourth season of Game of Thrones, The Lion and the Rose. Lena Headey plays Jaime’s twin sister, Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. Peter Dinklage plays their younger brother, Tyrion. Jack Gleeson plays King Joffrey Baratheon, the oldest son of Jaime and Cersei’s incestuous relationship. At King’s Landing, preparations are made for Joffrey’s wedding to Margaery Tyrell, in order to cement an alliance between the powerful Lannister and Tyrell noble houses. Throughout the wedding, Joffrey repeatedly humiliates Tyrion, forcing him to serve as his cupbearer. As Joffrey drinks a cup of wine, he begins to choke and convulse. Jaime and Cersei rush to aid him, but they are too late. As he dies, Joffrey points an accusing finger at Tyrion, who is taken under arrest for his murder.
