Coster-Waldau appears as Ser Jaime Lannister in the eighth episode of the fourth season of Game of Thrones, The Mountain And The Viper. Peter Dinklage plays Tyrion Lannister, Jaime’s younger brother. Jaime visits Tyrion in his cell for a last drink before Tyrion’s trial by combat, and wishes him luck in the ordeal. As the trial commences Tyrion’s champion, Prince Oberyn Martell, initially gains the upper hand. However the prosecution’s champion, Ser Gregor Clegane, is able to win the duel in brutally violent fashion. A shocked Jaime and Tyrion realize that Tyrion is now under a sentence of death.
