Winfrey wins the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the 84th American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Award ceremony held in the Hollywood & Highland Center Grand Ballroom. Lawrence Gordon, John Travolta, Maria Shriver, and Ayanna Hall present the award.

I never imagined myself receiving an Oscar, certainly not for doing what I believe is a part of my calling, is a part of my being. It’s a part of why I am here.
