Renaissance 20th anniversary

Digweed plays a set based on Sasha and Digweed’s 1994 Renaissance mix album on his Transitions radio show for the 20th anniversary of the album. It includes tracks from the first two discs of the original by Leftfield, Bedrock, Disco Evangelists, Sunscreen, River Ocean, Bump, Fluke, Funk Machine, Hysterix, Grace, and Secret Life. Digweed:

Gonna take a step back in time. It’s actually 20 years to the day that Renaissance mix collection was released, and it really did set the benchmark for what followed in terms of DJ compilations. Before this album came out it was mostly bootleg mixtapes sold at market stalls and through clothes shops, etc. When the idea was first pitched to Sasha and myself we both jumped at the chance, sat down and wrote down our favorite records at that moment, real Renaissance classics that moved people on the dance floor … It’s nice that after 20 years people still talk about it with such fond memories and it still stands the test of time today.
