Sean Bean is an award winning British actor, born in 1959 in Yorkshire, England. He is notable for his roles as Boromir in the Lord Of The Rings film trilogy and as Lord Eddard Stark in the television series Game of Thrones. A classically trained actor, he acted in stage productions of Shakespeare before entering film and television with roles in the British television series Sharpe and Hollywood productions Goldeneye, Patriot Games and Troy.

Sean Bean is born in the city of Sheffield, South Yorkshire county, England. His father is Brian Bean, a fabrication shop owner, and his mother is Rita, nee Tuckwood, who works as a secretary at his father’s workshop. Growing up on a council estate, he is a fan of art and glam rock but also enjoys football.

A common misperception of me is…that I am a tough, rough northerner, which I suppose I am really. But I’m pretty mild-mannered most of the time.

On advice learned from his mother:

Listen to people and treat people as you find them. There’s an inherent goodness in most people. Don’t pre-judge people – that was me Mam’s advice anyway.
