Inaugural Monday Night Raw
WWE hosts first episode of their flagship program, Monday Night RAW. The event features Yokozuna vs Koko B. Ware, The Steiners vs The Executioners. Shawn Michaels vs Max Moon, and The Undertaker vs Damien Domento.
WWE debut
The Rock N’ Roll Express make their WWE debut on Monday Night RAW and defeat the team of Duane Gill and Barry Hardy in one minute and forty-five seconds. Morton comments:
Robert and I were rock stars and really didn’t know it. I wouldn’t change anything.
Inaugural SmackDown
WWE SmackDown makes its television debut. The event features Blue Blazer vs Val Venis, Big Show vs Test, Ken Shamrock vs Bradshaw, Mankind vs Big Boss Man and Steve Austin and The Rock vs The Corporate Ministry.
Final WCW appearance
Sting main events very last WCW match on final Monday Night Nitro broadcast. Sting faces off against longtime rival, Ric Flair. Flair is defeated and the two embrace after the bout, bringing the final show to a close.
I’ve always described that day as being surreal, very, very tough thing to swallow. After all the years and finally becoming the number one wrestling organization in the world. To see it go and we’re on the chopping block. Suddenly there’s someone new running the company. It was really strange, a strange time.
TNA Debut
Sting makes his first appearance for TNA at one year anniversary show, teaming with Jeff Jarrett to defeat A.J. Styles and Syxx Pac.
I would like to be a part of making TNA a household name worldwide. I’d love to see TNA become a huge force, a huge machine, all over the world. And to become one of the biggest, if not the biggest, wrestling organizations. I was a part of that one time at WCW and I’d like to see that happen again with TNA.
First WWE OVW televised appearance
Punk makes his first WWE televised appearance as part of their roster on OVW. Punk wrestles Danny Inferno in singles competition. Punk wins the bout with a roll up pin.
ECW television debut
Punk makes his debut on WWE’s ECW brand. In his first match, he defeats Credible in singles competition via submission after locking in an Anaconda Vice hold.
WWE debut
Cesaro makes his main roster WWE debut on Smackdown. He takes on Tyson Kidd in singles competition for his first match. Cesaro picks up the pinfall victory at one minutes and twenty-three seconds.
The Shield debuts in WWE
Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose make their first appearance as The Shield at WWE Survivor Series by running in through the crowd to attack Ryback during the evening’s WWE Championship triple threat match. The trio put Ryback trough the announcer’s table with a set up powerbomb.
WWE debut
The Wyatt Family debuts on WWE Monday Night RAW attacking Kane after his match. The show closes out with Wyatt posing over Kane alongside his brothers. Wyatt comments:
I couldn’t create something if I didn’t feel it. When I say things, when I speak on television, I’m not making stuff up. I’m not like sitting in the back with a notepad thinking ‘maybe this will make them think I’m crazy’. That’s how I really am you know? My views on this and that, which I really don’t want to delve into, but my views are that of the real me. There is no character. I think that’s the biggest mistake people think when they approach me, they think ‘you’re some character you know, I love the character you play’. You don’t really know who I am.
WWE Return
Christian returns to WWE on Friday Night Smackdown defeating Swagger in single’s competition. Christian picks up the pinfall victory at five minutes and forty-four seconds.
First WWE appearance
Sting makes his first WWE appearance in video promoting WWE 2k15 video game. Sting is announced as a special pre-order exclusive character. The short ad features Sting in his signature makeup and ominous “Crow” music.
It’s an honor. It’s something I always hoped I could do — to somehow or another be a part of the WWE family in some capacity. And here I am.
Birthday appearance
WWE teases surprise special guests to join Hogan for Monday Night RAW special on August 11th for his birthday celebration. Hogan will be 61 years old.

WWE RAW hosts special 61st Birthday celebration for Hogan. Many of Hogan’s oldest friends appear including the nWo, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff.
WWE return
Ambrose returns to WWE at Night of Champions to confront Rollins. Ambrose runs through the arena to attack Rollins and continues the beating until security pulls them apart.
WWE return
Johnson returns to WWE on Monday Night Raw to confront Rusev and Lana in the midst of their anti-American promo. Johnson attacks Rusev, forcing him to flee from the ring.
WWE in-ring debut
Sting makes his first ever live WWE televised appearance at Survivor Series. Sting enters the ring to surprise Triple H and cost his team an eight man tag team match. Sting delivers a Scorpion Death Drop to Triple H before exiting.
Returns from injury
Lee returns to action on Monday Night Raw after being sidelined with a neck injury to assist former rival Paige, who is being attacked by the Bella Twins.
