Burton’s engagement to Manson is part of a money-making scheme between Burton and a friend, according to journalist Daniel Simone. Burton wants to marry Manson so she can obtain his body upon his death and display it in a glass casket, drawing crowds and making money. Simone:
He’s finally realized that he’s been played for a fool. He feels he will never die. Therefore, he feels it’s a stupid idea to begin with. Manson never consented to the wedding in the first place and never will.
Manson and his Burton, who also goes by the name, Star get a marriage license. No date has been set for the wedding. The couple has 90 days to use the license without having to reapply. According to a spokesman with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the wedding must happen on a visiting day. Manson and his fiancée will be allowed to have up to 10 guests from outside the prison, as well as an officiant of their choice, and two more guests from inside the prison. Star:
