That just happened again. I was headlining Gotham Comedy Club in New York City and this guy waved me over. Everyone else at the table seemed to know [it was me], so it was probably like slow-mo to them. Like, ‘He’s not doing this, is he? Kevin!’ But Kevin says to me, ‘Can I get a drink?’ So I got him an iced tea and then I went onstage.

Joan was hilarious and relevant all the way to the end. She inspired every comic I know and we will carry her with us and quote her jokes forever. When I met her at the premiere of her movie, A Piece of Work she was so kind and wanted to make sure all the comics were going to stay so we could all hang out together. I thought that was so cool. Such a pro, such a hard worker. This was a huge loss for us all.

Responds to Trainwreck punchline
Hathaway responds after being a punchline in Schumer’s Trainwreck. In the film, Schumer’s character tells her boyfriend that after he wins a charity award, he’s acting like Hathaway on Oscar night. Hathaway won an Academy Award for best supporting actress for her role in Les Miserables.

Seek gun background checks
The actress pledges to become involved in efforts to curb gun violence at a news conference. Schumer says her second cousin’s package of plans “seeks to address the how,” vowing that these initial public remarks “will not be my last.”
We’ll never know why people choose to do these painful things, but sadly, we always find out how.
Specifically, Senator Schumer is introducing legislation that would allow the Justice Department to create rewards and penalties for states that submit or don’t submit all records into the background check system. The Schumers also called on Congress to fully fund the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, which the Senate has proposed cutting by $159 million.

Schumer is hospitalized with food poisoning during a visit to Paris with her boyfriend.
