Runaway

Single Release

The band releasesRunaway, from their self titled album. Bon Jovi about the video:

I hate videos. If you wanted to torture me you’d tie me down and force me to watch our first five videos. Five times you’re chump before you learn what you’re doing. The first time we’d just made a record and we were all excited and some a--hole decides we’re going to make a video for Runaway. So instead of making it about what the song’s about, he decides to put a concept to it with his little niece in it. It’s the worst piece of s--t I ever saw in my life. There’s a girl with like fire coming out of her eyes. They dressed the band. Richie’s wearing a jumpsuit and shoes that are three sizes too big. They kept squirting us down with this greasy solution to make it look like we were sweating. We all look like assholes.

Bad Medicine

Single Release

The band releases, Bad Medicine, from, New Jersey. For the song’s music video, Bon Jovi gives 250 fans hand held cameras and film and tells them to shoot the band in concert the way they see them:

We told them to film whatever they wanted and, if it was good, we’d use it in the video, and take the ten people who’d shot the best stuff on the road with us in California this year, they could come along with us in the jet and be like a member of the band.
I was hoping they’d goof off a bit more, that they’d take the cameras out in the hallways and film their shoes, go film anything they wanted plus the stage. These kids turned up with their own lights, trusses, tripods, assistants and all that s--t, ‘cos they all wanted to be the ones that go on the road with us.

Who Says You Can’t Go Home

Single Release

The band releasesWho Says You Can’t Go Home, from the album, Have A Nice Day. Bon Jovi is not pleased when Palin uses the song  at some of her campaign stops in middle America.

We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past 25 years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the de facto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities. Although we have not asked, we do not approve of their use of Home.

We Weren’t Born To Follow

Single Release

The band releasesWe Weren’t Born To Follow, from the album, The Circle. Sambora:

When I recorded the solo to that song, I played a very melodic, kind of Beatles-esque break. That was the mood I was in. As soon as the song got leaked to radio, people went crazy, sending e-mails and Twittering and everything: ‘We love the song, but what’s with that solo? We want a rippin’, burnin’ Richie Sambora solo. So I said to Jon, ‘Hey, do you want me to change it? We got time. And John was like, ‘Sure. Go lay down another solo and we’ll drop it in the song on the album.’ So that’s what I did.
