Single White Female

In this thriller directed by Barbet Schroeder, Fonda plays Allison Jones, a young woman in need of a roommate. She places a classified ad and finds who she things is the the perfect one—Hedra Carlson. Her home soon becomes more like a prison as Carlson takes over her life and eventually tries to take it. Also starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Steven Weber.

That was a harder part for me to play, because it’s mostly reaction. And I’m better at doing than I am at reacting. It was some of the most satisfying work I’ve ever done.
