Ross Mc Cormack curls the ball wide shortly after Hooglands’ goal and the hosts fail to add the second to their tally. Liverpool win their eighth League Cup as they overcome plucky underdogs Cardiff City after another penalty shootout. Skrtel and Kuyt score for the Reds with Mason and Turner replying for the Blues. The penalty shootout is notable as cousins Steven and Anthony Gerrard both miss spotkicks for their respective sides.
