Tesla cuts China Model Y prices
Tesla lowers prices on its Model Y long-range and performance versions in China. The move comes after sales of China-made Tesla vehicles fell 31%, and it is followed by a 2.7% drop in Tesla shares. Tesla reduced the starting prices of both models by 14,000 yuan ($1,935). The Model Y Long Range’s starting price is down 4.5% to 299,900 yuan, and that of the Model Y Performance is down 3.8% (349,900 yuan). Between August 14 and September 30, Tesla is also offering insurance subsidies in China of 8,000 yuan for buyers of the entry-level, rear-wheel-drive versions of the Model 3.
World’s largest telescope under construction
China is hoping to finish construction of the world’s largest radio telescope by 2016. The telescope is built upon a naturally-formed bowl-like valley in the southern part of Guizhou. The huge dish is actually hung over the ground supported by thousands of steel pillars and cables and has perimeter of about 1.6 km. Chinese test mind-powered car
Nakai University in China reveal a car that is controlled by the users brain activity — an electroencephalo-graph car. Drivers use a headset to monitor brain activity that direct the vehicle. Head of Research:
We connect our equipment with CAN (Controller Area Network) of the car for communication, which is a breakthrough because in the past the human brain signal can only control stuffs in visual environment or a simple thing like a wheelchair…Now we can do it on an entire car, and we are the first in China.
