Chris Jericho born in Manhasset, NY
Jericho is born in Manhasset, New York as the son of hockey legend, Ted Irvine of New York Rangers fame. Jericho would be raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. His interest in wrestling an music begin at a young age.
When I was a kid, I started playing in bands when I was 12. I had two dreams and I was able to pursue both of them. That is a pretty rare thing. I don’t take it for granted. Some people go, ‘You can’t do both.’ I say, ‘Yes, I can. Watch me.’ I’ve been nothing but a wrestling fan and a music fan since I was a young kid. I just couldn’t decide which one of them I wanted to do. So I said, ‘I’ll do them both.’
Begins wrestling training

I went to train with the Hart brothers pro wrestling camp in Calgary, which was about 12 hours away from Winnipeg, where I grew up in Canada. That was Bret Hart’s father and that’s where a lot of the guys trained – Chris Benoit, Brian Pillman, a lot of guys like that.
Jericho – Pitbull 2 ECW TV title
Jericho defeats Pitbull 2 for the ECW television championship. This is Jericho’s first televised American wrestling championship.
ECW was the first time I really had a job nationally in the states and it was a real almost like cult atmosphere in the way that people treated it as fans and the way the wrestlers treated it just being part of the company. Everybody was really dedicated to it and they really gave 100 percent in their belief to the company and to their matches. It didn’t matter if there were 300 people there or 200 people there, the show was always quality and it was an almost Japanese style of wrestling in the fact that the matches were very hard hitting.
WCW debut
Jericho makes first WCW appearance and defeates Alex Wright in single’s competition.
When I came to World Championship Wrestling, I came here to fight to the best of my ability.

Jericho defeats Waltman for the WCW Cruiserweight championship on Monday Night Nitro.
Jericho – WWE debut
Jericho makes his first appearance in WWE as the countdown clock runs down to reveal him as the millennium man. Jericho trades verbal blows with The Rock.
Jericho – Chyna Intercontinental title
Jericho defeats Chyna to claim his first championship title in WWE.
Wrestlemania 2000
Wrestlemania 2000 is the 16th annual event and the first of the new millennium it is held at Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California. The event features Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle vs Chris Jericho and Triple H vs The Rock vs Mick Foley vs Big Show.
Jericho – Angle – Benoit European title
Jericho defeats Angle and Benoit to win the WWE European championship at Wrestlemania.
Jericho – Benoit Intercontinental title
Jericho defeats Benoit to capture the WWE Intercontinental championship.
Chris was my best friend in the business, and had been since ’93, ’94.
Jericho – Benoit ladder match
Jericho defeats Benoit in ladder match for the WWE Intercontinental championship at Royal Rumble.
Jericho & Benoit – Triple H & Austin tag team titles
Jericho and Benoit defeat Triple H and Austin to capture the WWE tag team championships on Monday Night Raw.
Jericho Undisputed champion
Jericho defeats The Rock to win the WCW championship then Steve Austin to win the WWE championship to unify the titles and become first ever WWE Undisputed Champion.
Wrestlemania 18
Wrestlemania 18 is held at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario. The event features Rob Van Dam vs William Regal, Jazz vs Trish Stratus vs Lita, The Undertaker vs Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan vs The Rock, Edge vs Booker T and Triple H vs Chris Jericho.
Cena – Jericho Vengeance
Cena defeats Jericho at WWE Vengeance. This is Cena’s first pay-per-view match.
Jericho – Van Dam Intercontinental title
Jericho defeats Rob Van Dam to capture WWE Intercontinental championship.
Jericho & Christian – Kane & Hurricane Tag Team titles
Kane and Hurricane drop WWE tag team titles to Christian and Chris Jericho.
Wrestlemania 19
Wrestlemania 19 is held at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. The event features Matt Hardy vs Rey Mysterio, The Undertkaker vs Big Show and A-Train, Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho, Triple H vs Booker T and Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle.
You’re Fired match
Jericho loses “You’re Fired” match to John Cena on Monday Night RAW. Jericho is carried out of the building by security.
Jericho – Orton WWE return
Jericho returns to WWE to interrupt Randy Orton’s ” passing of the torch” ceremony.
