Chris Pratt born in Virginia, Minnesota
Christopher Michael Pratt is born in Virginia, Minnesota but raised in Lake Stevens, Washington. His father is Dan Pratt, a home remodeler and his mother is Kathy Pratt (née Indahl), a Safeway supermarket employee. He has an older brother named Cully and an older sister named Angie. An accomplished athlete in high school, he lands fifth place in a state wrestling tournament. At 18 years old, he moves to Hawaii with some friends and works as a waiter at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in Maui. On his father:
My dad, Dan, was the strong, silent type. He worked in a gold mine. He was a Golden Gloves boxer, tough as nails, and didn’t put up with any crap. I was a sensitive kid, and I don’t know if we always got along or were always on the same page, but he was there. His dad never went to any of his football games. He was an all-state player, and his parents never even saw a single game that he was in. But he made it to… every game I ever played. And when he wasn’t a coach, he was there leaning on a fence at practice.
Everwood
0 CommentsPratt plays goofy jock Bright Abbott on the WB’s Everwood. The show also stars Emily VanCamp, Gregory Smith, Treat Williams, Debra Mooney and John Beasley.
When you have the first season of Everwood, the pilot was just awesome, just perfect. There was this 30 episode arc in his head that was his vision. If you see the first couple season on DVD, you can really see how awesome that was. The show totally had its stride, and it’s like passing the baton to someone and keep that stride, it’s difficult. Because a lot of the stories that kept the show so compelling, you have to stop telling after a while. Ephram and Amy only works as long as it takes to get them together, then its like, ‘Now what?’ it’s like [trying to create] part two of ‘Romeo and Juliet.’ The [strength] of the show [has been] that it’s something that’s it’s a little atypical of the WB, which is why we have fans outside the typical demographic recognize us. I don’t know, I think we’re becoming a little more close to what their core audience is used to, and that’s definitely a change from what it was in the beginning.
Pratt, Faris marry
Pratt marries fiancé Anna Faris in a small ceremony in Bali. Faris on Pratt:

Moneyball
0 CommentsPratt stars in this biographical sports drama directed by Bennett Miller. He takes on the role of Scott Hatteberg, an unsigned major league catcher who is hired by Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane, despite his arm injury. Beane, played by Brad Pitt, puts him at first base, a position that he has not previously played. His co-stars include Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Robin Wright.
Yeah, I met Scott on set. He came and visited. He’s so close with Billy and he and his wife, Elizabeth, and three daughters came to set. He was great. He sat behind the monitors with a big smile on his face. He was telling stories and answered every question that I had. It had to be really surreal for him to have this chapter of his life being played in a movie with these huge stars. And he couldn’t have been nicer about it.
Welcome first child
Pratt and wife Anna Faris welcome their first child, Jack Pratt. Jack is born prematurely. A rep for the couple:

Chris Pratt interview
Pratt guests in Conan to promote his film, Zero Dark Thirty. He shares his rigorous fitness regimen for his role as a Navy SEAL in the movie, and shows a photo of the results. He also talks about some of his earlier jobs, including being a very good coupon salesman.
I sold coupons. It was one of these kinda multi-level marketing schemes where if you work really hard and make your boss a lot of money, one day, you can have your own office. I did it for two years, from the time I was 18 to 20, and I ended up opening my own office.
Zero Dark Thirty
0 CommentsPratt stars in this action war film directed by Kathryn Bigelow. He takes on the role of Justin, a U.S. Navy SEAL who belongs to the group that kills Osama bin Laden in his home in Pakistan. Co-starring Jessica Chastain, James Gandolfini, and Jason Clarke.
For me, I think what was the greatest part of being a part of it was just getting to represent these guys who do this job, not because they expected movies to be made about them. To be honest with you, a lot of them don’t want this movie to be made, they don’t want to be in the spotlight, and they just do what they do because someone needs to do it.
Married while sick with food poisoning
Pratt and wife Anna Faris are married while sick with food poisoning, Faris reveals to Stylist magazine. Pratt and Faris marry on a whim in Bali in 2009 while on vacation. Faris:
We were in Bali suffering from food poisoning – the really rough kind, you know, sharing the toilet. I was looking for chicken broth on the room service menu and saw the hotel also did weddings. While still feverish, Chris said, ‘Let’s do it.’ So the staff found us some traditional Balinese clothes and a local priest. We had no idea what was going on but we came back married.
The Lego Movie
0 CommentsPratt plays the character Emmet in The Lego Movie. Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Morgan Freeman, Will Arnett, Alison Brie and Liam Neeson also lend their voices to the movie.
There are a lot of themes in this movie. I think the bigger themes are, one that seems to be geared towards children is [it] doesn’t matter if you don’t think the idea in your mind is special, throw it out there, give it a shot. You might find that this simple idea in your brain, other people might find it to be brilliant, so don’t be ashamed to try your ideas out no matter what.

It’s been a complete lifestyle change for about a year and a half now. I don’t drink alcohol like I used to, only eat very clean, healthy foods, and I spend at least an hour every day working out, a massive change in diet and physical activity.

People from around the world, 20,000 visitors a day, come to see the dinosaurs and see the several attractions. It’s been around long enough to where attendance starts to fall off a little bit. So they’ve decided to come up with a new attraction to bring even more people in. You’re never gonna believe it, but it doesn’t go well.

Parks & Recreation
0 CommentsPratt plays children’s party entertainer Andy Dwyer in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Pratt is a guest star for the first season, but becomes a series regular. The series ends with the 2014 season. Pratt:
I feel sad. It’s my home. I mean, mostly I’m excited because we’re going to start in two weeks and so I’m just thrilled to get back to work and be back home with my friends and my family on that show. I think people are ready for it to be done. The creatives, they have been working very, very hard. They’ve done what 130, or 150 episodes or something like that? And so that’s a lot of work. Day in and day out they’re writing episodes and trying to create stories that can somehow stay fresh with this same core group of characters.
Chris Pratt interview
0 CommentsPratt sits down to an interview with Pursuitist about the physical perpetration for his role in the film Guardians Of The Galaxy.
The preparation. That was a big part of it. The first five months of my involvement on this film were spent transforming myself physically. I was in LA working with personal trainers and nutritionists every single day. It became my job. The thing I loved most about comic books as a kid was the imagery: The covers and these super-ripped dudes and mega-sexy women. It was fantasy to me. It’s what I appreciated most as a kid and it was what was most important to me in approaching this role so I tried to get my body to look as much like those guys as I could. I enjoyed it but it was pain.
GQ cover
Pratt is featured on the cover of GQ as one of it’s Men of the Year. Pratt says he would like to become a director in an interview with the magazine.
I’m always biting my tongue. When I’m on set, I kind of wish I could just tell everybody what to do. If I could tell everybody what to do, it would be great, and it would be done faster. And so that’s what I’m working toward. I want control. I want control over something. I have to get better at writing, because the stuff that I have written, no one bought. Maybe they’ll buy it now, because they can put my name on it, but I’d be in a bad movie that I wrote. So I just want to make sure that I stay working hard. I think I will. I hope I will.
