Short is interviewed by Hall on The Arsenio Hall Show. They talk about his two year old bilingual daughter.
My son is not bilingual, my daughter we decided that when we have our daughter we want her to be bilingual, it’s weird now though because she literally speaks Spanish more than she does English.
Files for divorce, obtains restraining order
Short’s wife Tuere files for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Tuere obtains a temporary restraining order against Short after alleging Short threatened to kill her and himself. Tuere:
He placed the knife close to my neck and threatened to kill me and then kill himself.
Public Intoxication Arrest
The actor is arrested for public intoxication after becoming disorderly and yelling at security at a local Dallas bar named Katy Trail Ice Bar. According to witnesses he was at the bar for four hours drinking. After appearing to try to leave without paying the tab he was confronted by security and a fight ensued. Short was then arrested by off duty police who work at the bar.
He was like a dog with a bone who wouldn’t let it go.
‘They did the right thing’
Short reacts to being let go from Scandal:
They did not throw me to the curb like trash — that’s my family. They knew that I was going through a tough season and rallied around me and wrapped their arms around me, from Shonda to the craft service man. We’re a family.
Accepts plea deal
0 CommentsShort accepts a plea deal in his domestic violence case when Judge Christine Ewell sets his bail amount at 500,000 after he misses his original court date. Short is sentenced to three years probation and 30 days of community service. Short’s explanation for missing original court date:
I apologize sincerely for missing court. I literally went to Barbados for an HIV charity. I was between a rock and a hard place: the rock being court and the hard place being Barbados and 2,000 kids waiting for me to get there.
Loses home
0 CommentsShort falls behind on his house payments and his landlord issues a court order giving him five days to leave the premises. Short voluntarily leaves before the eviction. Landlord:
I am not sure if the actor paid back rent before leaving.
Access Hollywood Live interview
Short reveals that substance abuse was the reason for his exit from Scandal in an interview with Access Hollywood Live.
I’ll be candid: I was struggling with drugs. I had a lot on my plate, and you know, I was using unhealthy ways to kind of self-medicate and deal with a lot of heavy duty stuff in my life… I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then.
