It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share this news. Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren’t able to save him.
This is sad news and it just goes to show that maybe we need better screening for Ebola. Dr. Salia was tested the minute he started to display symptoms of the virus, but the test came back negative. It w
asn’t till four days later that the test came back positive. Those four days could of made all the difference in his survival from the virus, the earlier its detected the better for the patient.
