Page is nominated for Best Actress at the 80th Academy Awards for portraying Juno MacGuff in Juno.
I’m actually just playing honest, whole young women.
Page appears on the cover of the May 2008 issue of Teen Vogue magazine. She talks about her life being surreal, staying grounded, and what she plans on doing after Juno.
I absolutely adore acting. But I also know that this is a fragile industry, and I don’t want to attach my happiness to it. I still think about going to school, to study psychology or art history. I couldn’t do it now, of course. I think it’s a matter of the grass is always greener… (pauses) Not that I don’t think that the grass I’m on right now is completely green. It is.
Page appears on the cover of the June 2014 issue of Flare magazine. She talks about the possibility of producing and directing, being gay, and LGBTQ rights.
I feel more creatively inspired than I have in years and I’m sure it has to do with a lot of bricks being taken out of the backpack.
Page appears on one of three covers of the October 2014 issue of W magazine. She talks about being naked and performing.
I thought I was going to be an art teacher. I was way too scared to say I wanted to be an actor or a comedian. Then I took a performance-art class in college. You could do anything: People peed in jars and called it art. The class was silly, but I really liked performing. I had this theory that if you looked in the mirror and asked yourself a question, you had to tell yourself the truth. So, I asked, ‘What do you want to do?’ I stared in the mirror and said to myself, ‘I want to move to L.A. and be an actor.’ And that was that.
Page confronts Cruz on his position on gay rights at the Iowa State fair Friday, surprising him while he grilled pork chops. The two speak for about five minutes after Page, asks about LGBT people “being fired for being gay-trans”. Cruz counters that “we’re seeing Bible-believing Christians being persecuted for living according to their faith.” The exchange is recorded by ABC News. Cruz then asks Page whether she knew about persecution of gay people in Iran and at the hands of ISIS. Cruz, who opposes same-sex marriage, told ABC afterward that he did not realize he was speaking with Page.
No one has the right to force someone else to abandon their faith and their conscience. Imagine, hypothetically, you had a gay florist and imagine two evangelicals wanted to get married and they decide, ‘You know what, I disagree with your faith and I don’t want to provide flowers’.
