Erwitt takes what he says is his favorite photo, of a black boy pointing a gun at his head in Pittsburgh.
The picture that I keep coming back to more and more, which has a lot to do with me and my attitude and my point of view, is of the little black boy with the gun to his head. It’s a picture that for me has the elements … that speak of me as a photographer. The photograph is funny and tragic at the same time.

I’m aware that my ass looks like a bag of flapjacks. But I’m not trying to be the best-looking broad in the world. At a certain point you start asking yourself, ‘What really is sexy?’ It’s not just the elevation of your boobs. It’s being present and having fun and liking yourself enough to like the person that’s with you. If I believed that sexy was trying to be who I was when I did Basic Instinct, then we’d all be having a hard day today.
She credits her features to the dermal filler Restylane, which she started using after suffering damage from a stroke in 2001.
It’s so common now for people to use fillers, it’s almost like a beauty treatment. It’s like you have mascara and a filler. And it’s a far better alternative than having your face cut apart and ending up looking like you got sucked into a wind tunnel.
On recovering from her stroke:
I thought, ‘You know what? I got thrown off the bullet train, and now I’m going to have to crawl up a hill of broken glass, get back on the train that’s going a million miles an hour, and work my way from the cattle car up,” she recalls. “That’s just the way it is, so I’d better get humble and shut the f–k up and do the job. Because if I can’t do this job, I’m certainly not going to be able to do anything else.
Jenner poses for the latest Vogue issue, taken by Lagerfeld. Schoeller explains the process behind Time‘s photo spread of Trump holding a bald eagle. The 27-year-old American bald eagle, named Uncle Sam, was flown in from Texas.
[Trump]’s very difficult to photograph. If you ask him to look up a little bit, he says no or he just doesn’t do it. He literally has one angle. If I ask him to smile, he puts on a big grin and then he goes back to his Zoolander ‘blue steel’ look. And the ‘blue steel’ stays for as ever long as it takes to get the photograph…When I get an assignment, I do my research and try to figure out what kind of picture would make the most sense given who the person is and what they’ve been up to. Mr. Trump liked that [bald eagel] idea. I thought he might be open to it considering he’s a man who loves attention. He likes controversy, and he likes to be in the spotlight.
