Glasgow Caledonian University interview
Duffy talks to Glasgow Caledonian University about his career, how he started Entrepreneurial Spark, and the project’s aims.
It’s absolutely unique. We call them ‘Chicklets’ because Entrepreneurial Spark is the Hatchery. The Hatchery is the “hard” part. Within that we give free desks, free space, free printing, free computers, software, free cleaning, bins emptied, wireless broadband, printing, stationery, meeting rooms, ideation space, enablement. So it doesn’t get any better for a business to start up. That particular space has been provided, and paid for, by Willie Haughey OBE, a successful Glasgow businessman. I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you, if he hadn’t put his hand in his pocket. He was the first to do that after we got a donation from Tom Hunter. He’s opened up his business. He’s put us on his executive floor level. And these Chicklets can benefit from all that. The whole idea is the fail fast, they fail smart, and fail cheap…if they fail.
Be A Mentor video
Duffy invites mentors to join Entrepreneurial Spark.
We’ve set up Entrepreneurial Spark in Glasgow. We’ve set it up in Scotland. We feel Scotland needs it. It will be good for Scotland. It will boost Scotland. It will collaborate with other businesses. But we can’t do it all ourselves. We’ve had fantastic support from Willie Haughey. Fantastic support from Sir Tom Hunter. And what we’re really looking for is — we want other businesses, other people who feel they could be ambassadors, other people who feel they could be supporters, other people who feel they could be brand advocates. Or simply a mentor. Someone to come forward and help. We’re reaching out to you to help us crystalize what we’ve started here.
Chief Executive Optimist video
Duffy introduces Entrepreneurial Spark.
We want to develop entrepreneurial mindsets and behaviours. The vision between Entrepreneurial Spark is a brand new group of people in Scotland, thinking differently, acting differently, doing different things in a different way, but collaborating with each other. Sharing ideas, sharing information, being more open, thinking global, looking at trends abroad. That’s what we want to do over the next three to five years.

To reporters:
He hasn’t wanted a hold of that belt for the whole trip. He wants it away from him. You haven’t wanted to hold it. Translate that for him.
Inside the Mac Mansion
McGregor gives a tour of the mansion he is renting in las Vegas.
I wrote out some rules. The Mac Mansion house rules. Rule No. 1 Don’t talk about Fight Club…Rule 5: This is the rule that’s to do with the fridge. No processed sugars, treats, desserts. I don’t want to come down here to the fridge and see a big cake staring at me at the face and tempting me, ‘cos then I’ll eat the whole damn thing.
British GP interview
Rossi talks about the British GP at Silverstone.
Silverstone is a great track. Very difficult, very long, but full of history. Last year was not so bad. For sure there will be harder, maybe difficult conditions, maybe cold, maybe rain, so we have to be ready for all aspects.
Disabled fan’s ‘miracle’
Graham Merrigan, an Irish McGregor fan, recounts watching him fight.
The last fight with Aldo, I was in my friends house. I was in shock that it ended in 13 seconds. I nearly tried to stand up. My friend stood up and I used my friend’s shoulder and I was like, ‘Oh they don’t work’. He almost brought me to my feet. He nearly made a miracle!
Crashes fan’s apartment
While driving around Las Vegas McGregor spots a cardboard cutout of himself on a fan’s balcony, and decides to pay a surprise visit.
I’m here on the West Coast. Like most fights I usually come out here two, three weeks before. But every time I come back it seems to be a little bit more crazy with the fans. They’ve been treating me like I’m one of their own. I’ve been driving to the gym and I drive past this guy’s apartment, and on the balcony he’s got Irish flags, and a cardboard cut out of me. Now we’re gonna drop in to him and see what he’s about…
In the fan’s place:
I’m blown away by this…I’m gonna put on a show for you.
Fan:
Every Saturday before the fight I put up my cardboard cutout, I put up the flag, and I put up the banner. The only thing I can say is, that feeling he had with Jose Aldo when he knocked him out and became the champ. Hands down, that’s how it felt tonight. That’s how amazing it was.

Every rider loves this track, but when you ride it, it is very difficult, very demanding physically, and very scary, because it is very fast. The special thing about Mugello is the number of people around the track. It’s like another track. But when you ride the bike you feel the people. You feel the people very close.
